Twinsie Tuesday- Polish Received in a Swap

Gift
Hiyah there Polished Babes! Today the Twinsies are showing you polishes that were received in a swap. The Twinsies have an ongoing birthday swap, so I thought this would be a great time to share a polish given to me by one of the ladies.
Picture Polish Unicorn

Jessica of Blue Velvet Lacquer gifted me the super cute Picture Polish Unicorn, which went on my wishlist as soon as the brand revealed it. It is a super cute aqua creme based polish with pink, silver, and white colored flecks and glitters. I used three thin coats and topcoat here. The formula was absolutely amazing and went on without any issues.

Isn't it the cutest? I think this is one of my top collab polishes from the brand. Great job Brit Nails!!

Indigo Bananas Nail Polish Review

Indigo Bananas Nail Polish
PressSample
Hiyah there Polished Babes! Today I have some beauties from Indigo Bananas to share with you. If you haven't seen, heard of, or used any polishes from this brand, you are certainly missing out. She has some of the prettiest and most unique polishes in the indie world. Let's go ahead and take a look!

Storm Drops is described as "a pale blue grey/cool toned grey creme polish, with silver & white flakies, and aqua shimmer." I used three thin coats and it went on without any issues. I love the subtle beauty of this one.

Gods & Monsters is a color-shifting flakie polish with a black/brown jelly base color. The flakes shift between brown, red, gold, and green. It was really sheer on the first coat, but built up nicely in three thin coats. The formula was good and gave me no issues at all. I absolutely adore the color shifts in this baby! So pretty!

Hole in the Sky is my favorite of the polishes I was sent. It has a purple/violent blue based linear holo with flakes and shimmer. The flakes shift from a red to greenish color and they're apparent in all lighting. The formula was perfect and went on effortlessly in two easy coats. With all of the beauty in this polish, it was incredibly difficult to capture accurately. I did the best I could! Anyway, I'm sure there are no shortages of this beauty online and I know I've seen my girls Lakeisha of Refined & Polished, as well as, Amanda Loves Polish rocking the heck out of this beauty, so you can check out their photos and reviews as well.

The last one I have to show you is called Galactic Halo (Holo). Ummm...this polish is all kinds of amazing! It is described by the maker as "a lavender to copper chrome flakie (a special type of thin multichrome flake) & linear holographic polish." I can't even deal with all the gorgeousness happening in this little polish bottle! I used three thin coats and it went on without any issues. Topcoat was used to smooth it all out and let it shine in all it's glory!

Twinsie Tuesday- Match Your Nails to Your Purse

PressSample
Happy Twinsie Tuesday Polished Babes!! Today the Twinsies are matching our nails to our purses! Now you now this is my type of theme because I am all about a fly handbag! This one came right on time because my hubby hooked it up for Valentine's Day and got me a beautiful new Michael Kors Bag. It's the Lea bag in the color Luggage. Here is it, just in case you're interested.

Although I love this theme and my beautiful new bag, I just couldn't find time to do a full mani for this prompt. Plus, the bag is super gorge, but doesn't lend much to the area of creativity for me. So I recycled an old mani. OK...I cheated...geesh. Why you gotta be all technical and stuff?!  Zoya Chanelle appears to be a very close match. Click HERE to view the original collection review. I absolutely adore the Naturel Deux Collection and they were all winners!!

Twinsie Tuesday- Anti-Valentine's Day Manicure

PressSample
Hiyah there lovelies! It's Tuesday and today's Twinsie Tuesday prompt has set us on a mission to create anti-Valentine's Day manicures. As you all may know, I lack creativity and any real artistic abilities, so I perused the Interwebs to find inspiration for this manicure. Unfortunately, I was unable to find the original source to credit the artist for this idea, but I am providing the link for you to check it out where I found it. CLICK HERE!
I used multiple polishes to create this look including: KBShimmer Eclipse (black creme), KBShimmer Eyes White Open (white creme), Zoya Daisy (yellow), Zoya Eden (hot pink), Zoya Leslie (lavender), Zoya Lillian (pastel blue), and Zoya Tiana (pastel green).
Anti-Valentine's Day Manicure

I started by painting each of my nails with one of the five Zoya colors. Once it was dry, I used a heart cutout and KBShimmer Eclipse to create the black hearts. I added KBShimmer Clearly on Top and allowed it to dry while I completed the other nails. I added small dots to the pinky and index fingers using KBShimmer Eyes White Open and Eclipse.
Anti-Valentine's Day Manicure

After these steps were complete, I added the "not so sweetheart" messages to the center of each heart. I thought this was a super cute take on an anti-Valentine's Day theme, so I used "ew" and "no," which were used in the original manicure credited above. I added my own little twist (if you can even call it that) and wrote "Boy Bye" on the middle finger nail.
Anti-Valentine's Day Nail Art

After everything was complete, I added topcoat and there you have it! I actually really like the way this came out. I think it's kind of fun to go against the grain since we are currently being flooded with all kinds of pinks and reds, hearts and flowers, and all that lovey dovey stuff. Anyway, I'm sure the super creative Twinsies will have some great manis to share with you today. Check out their looks by clicking on their links below.

Get Over the Monday Blues with Enchanted Polish La La Land!

Enchanted Polish La La Land
Gift
Happy Monday lovelies!! I am happy to be starting a new job today! I was blessed to be offered a position as Assistant Director/Clinical Coordinator at a local residential facility for children. I am excited about the opportunity to be in upper management, as this experience will definitely look great on my resume and I would love to learn a different side of the social work field. Anyway, we are getting hit by another snow storm, so I thought this beauty would bring happiness.

I have totally sucked at any nail polishes launches lately, so I was extremely disappointed when I missed out on this beauty when it was first released. Fortunately, the nail polish community has allowed me to meet some of the most amazing women EVER. A few of these ladies have become some of my closest friends. Anywho....my lovely friend Amanda (Amanda Loves Polish is her blog... you need to check her out!) was a doll and gifted me La La Land when Enchanted Polish restocked it recently. Thank you so much hun!!
Enchanted Polish La La Land

The formula on this polish was really good and it went on easily in just two coats. I used KBShimmer Clearly on Top and it did not dull the holo at all. It doesn't have the strongest holo that I've ever seen, but I think that really works well with this one. It also has an amazing shimmer that adds a little something extra!
Enchanted Polish La La Land

I absolutely LOVE this polish and I am happy to have a friend who's kind enough to think of me and how much I suck at restocks lately! LOL! Anyway, I'd like to add that I had some amazing nail art I created with this beauty. Unfortunately, I mistakenly deleted the pics, thinking I'd already saved them to my computer. I know... what a dork. Again, thank you so much Amanda! I truly appreciate you and the friendship we have formed. I cannot tell you how much it means to me to have you to talk to, brainstorm with, and vent to when needed. Love ya!!

Make sure you all check out Amanda Loves Polish! She rocks!!

KBShimmer Spring 2015 Collection Review

KBShimmer Spring 2015 Collection

PressSample
Hiyah there Polished Babes!!! Today I have the highly anticipated Spring 2015 Collection from KBShimmer. This collection consists of 12 new polishes including, four holos, one creme, and seven crellies. I won't do much talking, but you should go ahead and prepare your PayPal, credit card, debit card, and any other forms of payment you may have at your disposal. Let's go ahead and take a look.

Creme
Eyes White Open is described by the brand as "a white creme with two coat coverage." The formula on this was excellent and went on practically opaque in just one coat. I still used two as always. There were no issues with application. This baby received a warm welcome into my collection, as one of my all-time favorite white cremes (Cult Nails Tempest) is sadly going away.

Holos
Blue-d Lines, according to the brand, is a "cool toned, pale blue ultra holographic polish." This one has an excellent formula and went on without any issues in just two coats. The holo is this is super intense, the strongest I've ever used from KBShimmer.

Ins and Sprouts is described as a "pale green citron colored holographic polish." Again, the formula was impeccable and went on without any issues. I used two easy coats here. I absolutely love the color of this one. I don't think I have anything like this in my collection. This holo flame on this one is insane!

Thistle Be the Day is a "pale pinkish purple ultra linear holo." I feel like a broken record, but the formula is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! I used two coats and there were no issues with application at all. I really felt like this polish was applying itself. This one also packs an amazing holo punch! It is absolutely amazing and stunning!!

Ther last holo I have to show you is called Blush Money. This one is described by the brand as being "based on the 2015 Pantone Color, Strawberry Ice, this peachy rose colored polish shows off gold shimmer indoors, while outside, a linear holographic rainbow shines." Umm...yes please!! This baby is stunning and was a surprise favorite out of the holos. Of course, I love purple, but this one took the cake. The gold shimmer is very apparent indoors and totally adds a unique feel to the polish. The formula was amazing (are you tired of hearing me say that yet?). I used two coats here.

 Crellies
Meow or Never is a described by the brand as being "based on the Pantone spring color Glacier Gray, this polish is a very pale gray, almost white in color with pops of purple, gray, periwinkle and sky blue." The great formulas didn't stop with the holos. This crelly went on effortlessly in three thin coats. I used topcoat to create a smooth finish. The color combination used here is super cute!!

To Peach His Own is one of the most unique color combinations I've ever seen on a polish. According to the brand, "this pale peach polish shines with holographic glitters in lime green, gold, violet and magenta." The formula was nothing short of perfection. I used three thin coats and had no issues with application. This was another one that surprised me and turned out to be one of my favorites of the entire spring collection.

Wind Swarm is "based on the Spring 2015 Pantone color, Aquamarine, and features a pale sky blue base." The formula was good. I used three coats and topcoat here. There were no issues with application. There is a pretty shimmer in the base that really adds an extra dimension to this beauty.

I'm So Sweet Pea (love the name!) has a "pale purple base with pink, mint, purple, and turquoise glitters." The formula was pretty sheer, but not problematic at all. I used four thin coats for these photos. Super cute glitter mix here!

Sweet Egg-Scape is "a pale, bubblegum pink polish with pastel aqua star glitters, coral triangles, lavender dots, red squares and sliver holo hexes." The formula was good, but you have to be careful with application here. The chunky glitters tended to clump together a bit. I used two coats and topcoat here.

Cool Hand Cuke is "a pale minty green polish loaded with pastel glitters in circles, triangles, stars and hexes." There was also a beautiful shimmer to the base. The formula was great and went on without any issues in three thin coats.

The final (and my absolute favorite) polish in the spring collection is called Funky Cold Patina. It "features a cool turquoise green base, with pops of metallic copper, blue and purple." THE FORMULA IS PEEEERRRRFEECCTT!! Oops...sorry for screaming! I cannot tell you how much I love this one! I used two easy coats and topcoat here.
