Twinsie Tuesday- Pond Manicure

NothingtoDisclose
Happy Twinsie Tuesday! Happy New Year! Merry Christmas! And Happy everything else in between!!! Today the Twinsies are kicking off 2015 with the addition of three new Twinsies to the group! Yay!!! Please join us in welcoming Savannah of Addicted to Polish, Becky at Polished by Beckie, and Amanda of Fashion Footing. Welcome aboard ladies! Let's take a look at this week's theme...

So...it's been a loooooooooonnnngg time since I've posted, painted my nails, or anything that even remotely resembles being a nail blogger. Sigh...so let's just say, the nails ain't ready. No...they're not. I am going through some serious issues transitioning into my new lifestyle as a Northeasterner and this winter has not been nice to my nails, cuticles, or hands at all. Anyway, I'm rocking super shorties that are chipping and peeling like crazy. Oh...sorry...this week's theme..."Pond Manicures."
Pond Manicure Nail Art

I used L'Oreal Lilac Coolers (a lavender jelly) and a white creme polish for this mani. I started with one coat of the jelly, let it dry a little, and then added a few dots with the white creme. I repeated this step about four or five times, until the "pond like" look was achieved. I actually messed it up by being impatient with the top layer of the jelly, which ended up smearing the entire look. Ugh...

Yes...this is no stellar nail art (or mani period) by any stretch of the imagination. However, this is a MAJOR accomplishment considering how long it's been since I've even polished these nails. Apparently, I need to brush up a bit and get it together because this is just NOT OKAY. NOPE. SMH. Anyway, make sure you check out what the other ladies created for today and be sure to stop by and show the new Twinsies some love!

  13. I feel ya, waiting for the layers to try was the hardest thing about this mani for me. As for the peeling nails, have you ever tried Barielle's Nail Strengthener Cream? Lakeisha turned me on to it and now I can't live without it, especially during the winter!

  14. This is beautiful! But I laughed at the "life of a Northeasterner." It's rough on your hands!
