The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents- Geometric Nails- Look 4

PurchasedbyMe
Hi there again lovelies! I have my last look for September's Nail Challenge Collaborative theme of geometric nails. For this look, I started with a base of Mod Lacquer High Strangeness, "a violet linear holographic polish." A full review of this polish will be coming very soon, but here is a swatch of it alone.
Mod Lacquer High Strangeness

Fort the geometric look, I used nail vinyls from Miami Handjobs. The ones I chose for this look are the tiny tetris designs. I decided to stagger their placement on the nails to create somewhat of a descending look.
Geometric Nail Art

I used one coat of KBShimmer Eclipse, a super black creme polish over the vinyls. I absolutely love how this came out. The super intense holo peaking out from the black creme looks perfect together. What do you think?

Twinsie Tuesday- Biggest Splurge

PurchasedbyMe
Happy Twinsie Tuesday Polished Babes! As the days draw closer, I am getting more excited about starting my job next Monday. I'm spending this week trying to get myself together and prepare for this new routine. I haven't worked in four years so this may be tough in the beginning. Anyway, the Twinsies are showing off our biggest splurges today! Let's take a look at mine...
Dior Minuit

I purchased this polish a long time ago and I just adore it. This is only my second time wearing it, but I am sure I will be loving it this fall. Dior Minuit is from last year's "Golden Winter" collection. It is described as "a vibrant plum based polished with fine gold glitters." I absolutely adore this polish and the formula is truly amazing!
Dior Minuit

As I stated above, the formula is amazing. It is a creme/jelly hybrid formula that doesn't skew too far in either direction. It went on effortlessly in three thin coats. Two would likely be sufficient, but I added an additional coat for the depth. The golden shimmers peek out from the plum base in just the right amounts. There are also hints of fuchsia as well.
Dior Minuit

The only minor issue I had was the length of the brush. I have large hands and fingers, so it is sometimes difficult to hold the brush properly. This goes back to the amazing formula. If the formula hadn't been so great, I would have had a mess on my hands. The polish practically applied itself, leaving mistakes and clean up to the bare minimum.
Dior Minuit

Overall, I am still in love with this polish! It is one that is a staple on my makeup/nail desk. It's too beautiful to be kept hidden away inside of a helmer. Biggest splurge. Definitely. Dior Minuit cost me $32. Yep...$32. All $32 (plus tax...hehe) of my dollars were well spent. Yes...that's quite a lot. I don't care and I surely don't regret it.

Make sure you check out the Biggest Splurges from the other Twinsies.

The Nail Challenge Collaborative Presents- Geometric Nails- Look 3

PressSample
I had to double up again today! For this post, I have a review of Silhouette from the newly released Milani Color Statement Collection. I added some simple touches to create my third geometric look for the Nail Polish Collaborative's Geometric Nail Art month. Let's take a look.

Silhouette is described by the brand as "a gray beige." Ummm...what?? This is nowhere near an accurate color description. I'm not sure what they were thinking with this one. Anyway, what I see here is an army/khaki green with shimmer in a creme base. The polish had a flawless application, going on easily in just two coats. It had a thick formula, but in a good, creamy, buttery way. I used two coats but one was completely opaque. The shimmer makes this one a unique shade, in my opinion.

For my geometric look, I went with a simplistic design using triangle shaped studs. I added one triangle stud to the base of each nail using a small amount of base coat. I used topcoat the seal the studs to the nail and they lasted a couple off days this way.
MIlani Silhouette

For the ring finger accent nail, I used two of the small black triangles from the tribal nail vinyl set sold by KBShimmer. I used the same method to adhere the studs that I used with the other nails. Again, topcoat created a smooth finish and kept the nail vinyl and studs in place for a few days. All of this was on a whim, but I really like how it turned out.

Lynnderella- Fall in Love & Jammy Blue Review

PressSample
Happy Monday lovelies! I hope you had a great weekend! Today marks exactly one week until I start my new job. I'm getting really excited and somewhat nervous as well. I'm sure I will be fine, especially since this position has me working in my field of interest/specialization. Anyway, I have two new polishes from Lynnderella to share with you today. Let's check them out...

First up is Fall in Love, "a multiglitter that features an autumnal assortment of holographic, metallic, matte, satin and neon glitters in a clear base." I used one dabbed coat over Milani Vintage Lace Sheer (review coming soon). This polish is packed with glitters. While a little too busy and chunky for my tastes, it is perfect for the season. The colors are everything I am looking forward to for my first fall season.

Jammy Blue (LE) has a violet blue microglitter base with fuchsia microglitters dispersed throughout. It also has aqua, pink, and purple glitters. The formula was perfect and opaque in two coats. It dries to a slightly textured finish, so topcoat was used as well. If you recall, I absolutely loved the original Jammy (reviewed here), so I was stoked when Lynn said she'd send Jammy Blue for me to review as well. This one is only better (for me) because it's purple and blue! Love, love, love!

Fall in Love is a part of the new Fall in Love with New York Collection. It is available in Lynnderella's Storenvy for $18. Jammy Blue is a limited edition, which can be purchased HERE or HERE once it is available again. Make sure to check the sites for the limited edition pricing. The Nail Polish Collaborative Presents- Geometric Nails- Look 2

Hiyah there again lovelies! I have some catching up to do with posting my geometric looks for The Nail Challenge Collaborative. If you recall, this month's theme is geometric nails. While working on my review for October's Sweet Addictions Subscription Box, I decided to wear Cupcake Polish Fight Like a Girl for a bit. When wearing it, I added some geometric nail wraps from NCLA.
Cupcake Polish Fight Like a Girl

I liked the bright shimmering pink of Fight Like a Girl and I thought black and white would add the perfect contrasting accent nails.

Both of the nail wraps I chose have circle/swirly like patterns. I am not sure what these patterns are actually called, but I think they achieved the look I was going for perfectly. What do you think? Be sure to take a look at the geometric manis created by the other ladies this month.

Sweet Addictions Subscription Box Review- October

PressSample
Happy Sunday Polished Babes! I hope your weekend is a good one! I am really excited to show you the October Sweet Addictions Subscription Box. This month's theme is "Think Pink," in honor of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The brands participating in this month's subscription along with Cupcake Polish are Smitten Polish and Bear Pawlish. I have several polishes from both of these brands, so I am sure you will be thoroughly pleased with their contributions. Let's go ahead and "Think Pink!"

Bear Pawlish Paws for Ta-Tas is a Barbie pink holographic polish with a lavender colored flash. First of all, isn't that name the cutest? I absolutely love it! On to the polish itself...AMAZING! I really can't say much beyond that, but I will! I used two easy coats for these photos. The formula was perfect and extremely easy to apply. There were absolutely no issues with application. The holo is intense and even makes a statement in lower lighting. Winning!

Smitten Polish In October, We Wear Pink is a neon pink colored multiglitter polish. This one refused to photograph completely accurate to what I see on my nails. It is certainly neon, but leans slightly less peachy/coral than what is shown here. I tried this one in various settings to no avail. Regardless....it is absolutely PERFECT. It's super bright and packed with multiglitters in a clear base. Surprisingly, it was opaque in just one coat. However, you know that I always use at least two. The formula was easy to work with and topcoat is needed since it dries to a textured finish. The addition of topcoat causes this one to twinkle and sparkle to no end. I LOVE this polish!

Cupcake Polish Fight Like a Girl is a super sparkly pink holo shimmer polish. This is a perfect example of a "shimmolo," a term coined by Pam of Girly Bits. Simply put, it's a shimmer and holo polish. The formula was thick, but not in a problematic way. It is completely opaque in one coat, but I used two coats and topcoat here. I recommend waiting a few minutes between coats, as the polish can drag the first coat if it is not completely dry. This is another beauty! You don't want to wear this one at a time where you need to be completely focused. You won't be able to keep your eyes of the sparkling goodness of this beauty!

The box also comes with a super cute pastel pink heart charm. It's super cute and can be used in multiple ways. I have had it on my keychain and my three year old daughter has worn it as a necklace. It was super cute! Unfortunately, I forgot to snap a picture of here wearing it for this post. Trust me...too cute!
Cupcake Polish Fight Like a Girl

As usual, the Sweet Addictions Subscription Box has brought it's A game. I love that this month's box honors the fight against breast cancer. This is definitely one that pink lovers can enjoy. Each polish is unique and beautiful. You have it all...holo, microglitter, and a shimmolo! The box will be available September 28th at 11AM CDT. Make sure you're ready! I know this one is a hit!

DIFFERENT dimension- Heavy Metals Fall Collection Review

PressSample
Happy Friday lovelies! I have a beautiful new collection from DIFFERENT dimension to share with you today. This collection consists of six metallic based holos and two holo and metallic glitter toppers. The formulas on all of these were almost the same. PERFECT. I have nothing bad to say about any of them. These are all perfect for fall and I am sure you will love them. Let's take a look...

Heart of Rose Gold is described by the brand as "a rose gold metallic holographic polish with added shimmer." This polish is absolutely stunning and definitely keeping with the rose gold trend. I used two easy coats for these photos.
Different Dimension Heart of Rose Gold

Different Dimension Heart of Rose Gold

Bold As Brass, according to the maker, is "a bronze/brass colored metallic holographic polish with added shimmer." This one is fairly similar to Heart of Rose Gold, but it has more of the bronze tone, whereas the other has more pinkish undertones. Unfortunately, these look more similar in these pictures than they are in real life. I guess I'd refer to it as a lighter bronze color than what I normally associate with bronze. I used two coats here.
Different Dimension Bold As Brass

Copper-Bottomed is a "copper color metallic holographic polish." This one is a more saturated copper color than Bold As Brass. It is definitely what comes to mind when I hear copper. This color is absolutely stunning, in low lighting and in the sun. I used two coats here.

All That Glitters Is Not Gold is "a yellow gold colored metallic holographic polish with added shimmer." This is a really lightly colored gold with a super holo finish. I used easy coats for these photos.

Foiled Again, according to the brand, is "a gunmetal foil metallic colored holographic polish." This is one of the polishes that is absolutely perfect in every way. The color is amazing, The formula is superb. The holo is absolutely divine. I used two easy coats here. I can't even begin to describe how much I love this one.

Silver Lining "is a platinum/silver colored metallic holographic polish." The formula on this one was slightly thinner than the others, but not problematic at all. It was still opaque in just two coats. The holo flash is amazingly strong and looks gorgeous in all lighting. If you are looking for a gorgeous silver holo....this one is for you.

Pedal to the Metal "has holographic and metallic glitters in golf, gunmetal, silver, copper, and bronze." It is shown here in one coat over Milani Ink Spot, a deep navy blue creme. The formula was really good and went on without any issues. The glitters are very densely packed, but spreads evenly and doesn't clump together or drag.

Hearts of Steel "has holographic and metallic glitters in gold, copper, and rose pink." I used one coat over Milani Pink Rose, a light pinkish mauve creme. The glitter combination here is so beautiful. It went on easily in just one coat. There were no application issues at all.
