Powder Perfect Lacquer Summer Duo-Exclusive to Lacquer Chic Shop

Press Sample
Hi there lovelies! Today I have a review of another new-to-me indie brand, Powder Perfect. This one comes to you all the way from Australia. I have seen many polishes by this brand, but I haven't had the chance to try them out. The polishes I am showing you are a Summer Duo that is Exclusive to the online retailer, Lacquer Chic Shop. This is my second time reviewing exclusives for this shop and they are a joy to work with.

Powder-Perfect-Summer-Duo-Lacquer-Chic-Shop

Bikini in a Bottle is a pretty pink creme with dark pink microglitter and purple shimmer. The formula went on easily in three thin coats. No topcoat was used here. There were no issues with application and I love the extra oomph this one gets from the shimmers and microglitters.

Beach to the Bar is a purple jelly polish with lavender, blue, and silver glitters. Again, this one had a great formula that went on effortlessly. I used three coats and topcoat for these photos. I love the amount of glitters included in this one. They are distributed in just the right amount across the nail. There is no fuss to get them out either! I would suggest waiting a few minutes between coats to prevent any dragging that may occur.

In all, my first experience with Powder Perfect is a great one! I really enjoyed these polishes. They both had great formulas and applied without a hitch. As I stated above, this Summer Duo is exclusive to the Lacquer Chic Shop. It will be available June 30th at 12PM PDT. The duo retails for $20 for the set or $11.50 each. Tiffany, the owner of Lacquer Chic Shop, has also offered an ongoing 15% off discount code for my readers!!! Exciting, right?! The discount code is PTP15 and is good for anything sold within her shop. You should definitely check it out! There are so many great indies and I am sure you will love this duo!

What do you think of this duo? Have you tried this brand before?

Delush Polish Essence of Summer Collection Review

Press Sample
Hi there lovelies! I have another Summer Collection to show you, from another new-to-me indie brand, Delush Polish. I have seen some pretty polishes from this brand, but hadn't ever tried them. I am super happy Adrianna contacted me to review some of her brand new pretties. I have 3 of the 8 new beauties to show you today. I'm pretty sure you will love these! The shimmer is to die for!

You Glow Girl! is a yellow polish with pink and blue shimmer. I used three coats and topcoat for these photos. Upon applying the first coat, it was slightly patchy, but not terribly problematic at all. The formula was good, especially considering the difficulty that many yellows present. Unfortunately, the shimmer was difficult to capture in photos, but it is very apparent in person. Trust me on that one!
Delush Polish You Go Glow Girl!

Delush Polish You Go Glow Girl!

Bombshell is described by the maker as "a classic summery bright pink that hosts a stunning blue shifting shimmer that dazzles in the sunshine." The formula on this one was sheer, but very easy to work with. I used three easy coats. Topcoat was used since it dried to a semi-matte formula. The shimmer is absolutely gorgeous!

Brazen is a "shimmering orange that is reminiscent of the summer heat and breathtaking sunset views." To me, this is a peachy orange color packing gold and fuchsia shimmer. I used three thin coats and topcoat here. The formula was super easy to work with as well. I absolutely adore everything about this one! It is so beautiful and unique to my stash. I wish I were able to capture the different colors of the shimmer better, but like the others, it is very apparent. No hidden shimmer here.

Dollish Polish This Ring Toss is RIGGED- Exclusive for July's A Box, Indied

Press Sample
Howdy there Polished Babes! I was honored to be contacted by Dolly of Dollish Polish to review her exclusive creation for the July A Box, Indied Subscription that is sold on Llarowe. Yay for me! July's theme is "A Fair to Remember" so all of the participating brands drew inspiration from different aspects of the fun and games that come along with attending the fair. I don't know about you, but I have always loved the fair...mostly for the funnel cakes and candy apples! YUM!

This Ring Toss is RIGGED by Dollish Polish is "a super fun glitterbomb topper with red, yellow, white, orange, and turquoise metallic and matte doughnut glitters. It is also accented with coordinating assorted shape and sized glitters, micro glitters, and rainbow micro flakes." WHOA BAAAYBAY!! This one is packing everything that glitter lovers dream of!
Dollish Polish This Ring Toss Is Rigged

I used two coats and dabbed a few for placement purposes over a green creme polish. The formula was surprisingly easy to work with, especially considering the amount of glitters packed into this bottle. I would suggest leaving the bottle upside down for a few minutes before applying, since some of the larger glitters settled to the bottom. A little shake, roll, and upside down time got them back in check though. No biggie.

So what do you think of this glitter topper? Here's a macro for you!

As I stated above, this polish was created exclusively for the July A Box, Indied Subscription Box from Llarowe. This will not be offered alone or at any other time. You have the option to sign up for the yearly subscription or to purchase this one box in particular.

You should also check out the other polishes offered by Dollish Polish by visiting her shop HERE. You can follow her Instagram and Facebook as well.

Twinsie Tuesday- Nails Inspired by a Beverage/Food

Nothing to Disclose
Happy Twinsie Tuesday Polished Babes! Last week, we had two new Twiinsies (Bridget & Jessica) join us. This week, we have another new addition to the gang. Lisa of The Polish Playground is an absolute doll. She has always been really supportive of my blog and I love that she reads and comments faithfully! She has the cutest nails and always has the perfect execution of her designs. Make sure you stop by her blog to show her some love.

This week we are showing yo manicures inspired by a beverage or food. My absolute favorite thing to drink is chocolate milk, so it became my inspiration. I started with a base using two coats of Sally Hansen White On! on my ring finger, 2 coats of Zoya Flynn on the middle, and 2 coats of Zoya Louise on the index and pinky fingers. I figured the darker brown represents the times when my 10 year old son makes my chocolate milk and uses way too much Hershey's syrup and the lighter brown represents when my hubby makes it for me.
Zoya Flynn and Louise Nail Art

*Side note: I only like those two to make it for me. There's something about it when they do!*

I added dots to my middle and ring fingers using the opposite colors of the base. We will say these are inspired by chocolate chip cookies. Yeah...that's what it is. It has absolutely nothing to do with my laziness, lack of creativity, and sticking with something that I know I can do! LOL!
Zoya Flynn and Louise Nail Art

I like how these colors work together and the formulas on these Zoyas are awesome! Be sure to check out the inspiration for the other Twinsies' manis today.

Sweet Addictions Subscription Box Review

Press Sample
Happy Monday Polished Babes!! I hope your weekend went well. Mine? Well, we are finally on the last stretch for our big move to New England. Thankfully we have now settled on a home!! I'm really excited and it's so nice! Although hubby is working in Massachusetts, we will be living in New Hampshire. It's not a long commute at all though. Anyway, I have a review of a new subscription box called, Sweet Addictions. This box is a collaboration between Cupcake Polish, Aly's Dream Polish, and Sweet Baby by Donna. I was stoked when Sara from Cupcake Polish contacted me about reviewing this. I have never tried any products from this brand, so this was a great chance to give them a shot.
Sweet-Addictions-July-Subscriptions-Box

The first contribution to this box comes to you from Cupcake Polish. Although I have never tried the brand, I have seen some amazing holographic polishes that she has created. America the Beautiful is described as "a berry red linear holo with flecks of red sparkles added." Umm...WOW! This one had a perfect formula and went on without any issues in two easy coats. This one leans slightly more toward a fuchsia/pinkish type of color to me. Either way...I absolutely adore it and the holo is reallly strong.
Cupcake Polish America the Beautiful

Cupcake Polish America the Beautiful

The second polish contribution is Patriotic Blue by Aly's Dream Polish. Again, I have no experience with this brand, but I was pleasantly surprised. The formula was amazing and soooo easy to work with. It was opaque in one coat, but I always use at least two. I added topcoat as well. I was a tad concerned when I opened the box and saw this one because of the addition of the bar glitters into the holo base. However, I stand corrected and give mad props to the genius creator of this polish!! It is amazing! The glitters get somewhat lost in the base, but the sparsity of them add the perfect touch to an otherwise holo flooded indie market. I really like this one! I wore it for several days and there was no staining upon removal. Yay!

The last item provided is the Sweet Freedom cuticle oil from Sweet Baby by Donna. Again, being new to this brand (and always wanting to try it), I was happy to receive this to try out. As you already know, I am obnoxious when it comes to cuticle and hand care products, so this oil received a warm welcome into the family! The oil is lightly scented with a juicy watermelon fragrance. It comes in a full sized applicator with a roller ball. I love cuticle oils that come in this type of glass packaging with a rollerball because it is easily portable. You can take it with you anywhere, as it fits easily into a handbag, wallet, clutch, pocket, or any other type of carrying case you may have. You don't have to worry about it spilling and ruining your other items either. This oil is also vegan and free of any soy or nuts. I used it to moisturize my cuticles for these photos and it wasn't excessively greasy. It is really light and soaked into the skin, nails, and cuticles very quickly. I am showing it below on my naked nails as I prepared for bed. Love this oil and I will definitely try more products from this brand.
Sweet-Baby-by-Donna-Sweet-Freedom

Overall, I am extremely pleased with this subscription box. My first experience with all of these brands has been really pleasant and I am definitely ready to try more products from each of them. The subscription box is limited edition and will only be available in a specific amount. This is the July box and will be available for purchase on June 25th from the Cupcake Polish Website. The box retails for $30 plus shipping. Most importantly, these polishes and scent of cuticle oil are exclusive to this particular box. They will not be sold separately.

Be sure to follow Cupcake Polish on Facebook and Instagram. Click HERE for the Cupcake Polish shop.

DIFFERENT dimension- Sea You On the Other Tide Summer '14 Collection & Indepen-dance! Review

Press Sample
Happy Saturday Polished Babes! Today I have my first official review working with DIFFERENT dimension. As with my past few reviews, here I have another awesome indie brand, with a longstanding reputation of high quality, creative, and unique polishes to bring to you. Missi always gives us multiple drool worthy polishes with each collection, and this one is no different. Another thing I love about this brand is the creativity put into the names of each polish. Yes...you shall see what I mean throughout the post. Super fun and creative!!

Friends Anemones has been described by the maker as "a shimmered sheer grey base with lime green and blue glitters." I used two coats and topcoat here. The formula was perfect and this is my absolute favorite from the collection! I have never seen this color combination and it's just perfect!
Different Dimension Friends Anemones

Keep Urchin Up  is described as "a shimmery lilac crelly with turquoise and neon pink glitters." Again, the formula was great and super easy to work with. I used three thin coats and topcoat here. I absolutely adore how feminine this one is!
Different Dimension Keep Urchin Up

Different Dimension Keep Urchin Up

It Was On Sail! is "a glitter topper containing neon pink, white, and black glitters with holo dust in a clear base." I used two easy coats (no undies) and topcoat when wearing this one. This one was surprisingly smooth and the coverage was fantastic! I don't think I've ever tried a micro glitter polish that covers as well as this one. This one can also be layered over other colors for a different look.

Call Me On My Shell is described by the maker as "a shimmery white crelly with bright coral, aqua, and grey glitters." I am in love with coral and aqua pairings and this one is no different. Again, this one had a good formula and covered perfectly in three thin coats. I used two thin layers of topcoat to create a smooth and glossy finish.

Wave If You Sea Me is a "bright cobalt blue with green shimmer." Ahhhh...Seriously?! WOW! This is definitely another favorite for me! This beauty had an excellent formula and went on without any issues in three thin coats. I love the depth that the shimmers add to this one. It really does have a shimmering water look. I just love it!

Nautilus You Say So is a "neon green jelly polish with yellow and gold glitters in a variety of shapes and sizes. I love the addition of the triangle glitters in this one! It's just enough to add a little twist! I used three coats for opacity here, but two would be fine and result in a more squishy jelly look. This one is perfect for the summer season and I just love the name!

You've Gotta Be Squidding Me is "a coral jelly with neon pink shimmer." Three thin coats and topcoat were used for these photos. The formula was great and I had no issues at all. This one has that shimmering glowing factor that I have come to love recently.

Indepen-dance! is a "limited edition polish for Independence Day, consisting of different shapes and sizes of red, white, and blue glitters in a clear base with holo dust. I used two thin coats (and dabbed a few glitters into place) over a dark slate grey creme polish. Although packed with glitters, this one had a good formula. Not too thick or too thin. The glitters dispersed easily across the nail. This one will help show off your Independence Day pride!

Overall, like all of my previous experiences with DIFFERENT Dimension, I am extremely pleased. Iit's so exciting to be able to review polishes for a brand that you really like! These were all released yesterday (6/20/14) and they're still available for purchase HERE. Be sure to follow the brand on Facebook for updates on new collections, sales, and other fun things.

KBShimmer Summer 2014 Collection Review

Press Sample
HI there Polished Babes!!! Today I have the some of the polishes from the second half of KBShimmer's Summer 2014 Collection. If you recall, the Early Summer Collection was released last month and it was a major hit. Christy jumped right back in and gave us another holo and the usual jellies, crellies, and glitter toppers that we all love from KBShimmer. Additionally, the brand has ventured into the world of nail art materials and has released their first collection of nail art vinyls! Exciting!!

**KBShimmer's Clearly on Top (COT) Quick Drying Topcoat was used for these manicures**

Look High and Holo is described by the brand as "a raspbery jelly with a rainbows worth of holographic glitters in hexes and squares." This is one that immediately caught my eyes when I received the press release. This is absolute jelly sammich perfection in a bottle! The formula was absolutely amazing and went on without any issues in three thin coats. It is densely packed with glitters, so it's best to allow each coat to dry before adding another. I sealed her off with COT and WOW...look at that shine!!!
KBShimmer Look High and Holo

Peak My Interest is "a melon pink colored polish with triangle glitters in white, pink, and dark aqua." I love the color combination used for this one. This is also KBshimmer's first time using triangle glitters. I quite like the way they look here! I used three thin coats and COT. This one was slightly sheer due to the crelly formula, but there were no issues at all.
KBShimmer Peak My Interest

Mint-al Vacation is described by the brand in the follow manner: "This polish has two personalities. In low light it has beautiful white shimmer, but in the sun or bright light you can see the holographic rainbow of color." This minty polish is just adorable. It definitely has a uniqueness that the other mint holos I own don't have. The white shimmer looks glorious and so feminine! I love it! It has just the right amount of holo pigment to create the perfect look. I used two easy coats and the formula was fantastic.
KBShimmer Mint-al Precision

Periwinkle In Time is a "periwinkle colored crelly polish loaded with holographic glitters in aqua, navy blue, silver, and violet." There isn't much for me to add there because that description is spot on. This one had another amazing formula and went on smoothly without any issues. The glitters are added in the perfect proportion and they do not overwhelm the base. They spread evenly across the nail for a balanced and neat look. I used three thin coats, but two coats would be fine. LOVE!
KBShimmer Periwinkle in Time

Radiant Orchid is the Pantone Color of the year for 2014. This shade is described as "a pink toned purple with mauve and fuchsia undertones." This is the perfect balance between a pink and purple color. It is a perfect reflection of the color of the year. As with the other cremes introduced by KBShimmer this year, the formula was PERFECT. It has a great thickness about it that just makes application effortless. I used two coats here.
KBShimmer Radiant Orchid

KBShimmer Radiant Orchid

Scribble Me This is a "graffiti inspired glitter top coat featuring mini stars, triangles, and neon glitters." I love the bright and bold mixture of these glitters. It is really fun, especially for the summer! I used one coat over My Life's Purpoise (shown here). I think this color base allows the bright glitters to stand out. Again, this is one coat with topcoat.
KBShimmer Scribble Me This

KBShimmer Scribble Me This

As I mentioned above, KBShimmer has stepped into the world of creating nail vinyls. I was sent some to review along with the polishes. I created this look using Mint-al Vacation and Radiant Orchid. After applying Mint-al Vacation and allowing it to completely dry, I decided to add some of the star nail vinyls to the ring finger. Then, I added one thick coat of Radiant Orchid. While the polish was still wet, I quickly (and carefully) removed the stars using a pair of tweezers. I added topcoat for a glossy finish. To complete the look, I added some little purple star studs that I already had in my nail accessory bin.

KBShimmer Star Naill Vinyls

KBShimmer Star Naill Vinyls

What do you all think of this part of the collection? Are there any that you need in your life?! I have 3 other polishes and some more nail art with the vinyls to show you soon. These polishes and 6 others will be available June 20th at NOON EDT. You can shop on KBShimmer's website by clicking HERE. The nail vinyls retail for $5 per sheet, the cremes $7.50, and all other polishes are $8.75.

Be sure to follow KBShimmer on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Have a great day!
