Hiyah there Polished Babes! Can you believe that October is almost over? Where has the time gone? Anyway, I have a review of three polishes from the indie brand, Smokey Mountain Lacquers to share with you today. This is my first time trying this brand, so let's check out my experiences.
Rolling Pastures is a green jelly with green holo circles and hexes, as well as gold microglitters. Because of the jelly base, the polish was rather sheer. I used three coats and topcoat here. There were no issues with application. However, it was very difficult to get a lot of the circle out, even after leaving the bottle upside down for several minutes. Either way, I think this is a really cool combo and this would be perfect for St. Patrick's day!
4 Inch Heels is a cherry red jelly with holo stars, hexes, and microglitters. Again, the formula was sheer, but built up nicely in just three coats. I had difficulty getting the larger glitters (especially the stars) out of this one, but no major issues with application.
Purple Iris is a blue based purple jelly with holo circles and blue and fuchsia microglitters. I used three thin coats and topcoat here. This one is really pretty, but sheerer than the others. Even after three coats, there was still some VNL (visible nail line). Again, the larger glitters circle glitters were really stubborn and difficult to retrieve. In different lighting, it seems more blue and other lighting it looks more purple. Either way, I really like this one!
Overall, these were some good polishes and I had a pleasant first experience with Smokey Mountain Lacquers. The polishes retail for $7.50 (15ml) and $3.75 (5ml). Additionally, the brand has a limited time offer of free shipping on all orders over $30. Click HERE for the website.
