Happy Hump Day Polished Babes! After a couple months hiatus, I have rejoined my girls of the Nail Challenge Collaborative for geometric nail art during the month of September. I kind of got lost in the world of real life and fell behind on posting with the group, but I am back on track and ready to roll! Here's my first look for this month.
To be honest, I'm not sure if this look is actually considered geometric. Oh well....I've been wanting to try out a whimsical swirls, dots, zig zags, etc. mani for a little while. I decide to break out my Sally Hansen I Heart Nail Art Pens to aid me in creating this look. Plus, these were provided for review and I'm pretty sure Sally 'nem want me to get it together! Hehe!
I began with a white creme base and applied topcoat. After the base was dry, I took the nail art pens and began to randomly draw dots, zig zags, swirls, and triangles onto the nails. I made sure to change up the size and color of the designs on each nail to give it a fun look.
The nail art pens were really easy to use. When first using them, you need to shake them a bit and lightly push the tip onto a sheet of paper to get the ink flowing. What I really liked is how I was able to redo a design by wiping it away (no remover needed) and there were no smudges left behind. Here is a pic of the pen tips.
I think this look came together pretty well! I think it looks fun and whimsical, which is what I wanted. #winning
