Hi there Polished Babes! I hope your week is going along well thus far. Today I have a review of some fall polishes from Pretty & Polished. If you recall, I posted a press release with this information a few days ago. If not, you can check it out HERE. There will be three new collections released: (1) The Fall Collection (2) The Halloween Collection and (3) It's Funnier in Enochian (based off Superatural). I have a few from each collection to share with you today.
First up is Take It From the Top, a taupe (well....duh) creme polish. The first coat was rather sheer, but it built up nicely in three thin coats. The formula was thin, but not in a problematic way. The polish went on easily and self-leveled. This is such a nice neutral color for the fall!
Hoodie Weather is a dusty medium blue creme with black flecks. When looking at this one in the bottle, I didn't see the black flecks; however, upon applying this polish they really came out and made their presence known! The formula on this one is good. The first coat was really patchy, but the second coat made this one look absolutely fabulous. I only needed two coats for opacity. The addition of the black flecks makes this one such a unique and beautiful polish!
Caramel Apple Pie is a thermal polish that transitions from a golden beige when warm to light red color when cold. The golden specks are simply beautiful and very apparent in all lighting. The formula was good, going on easily in three thin coats. It was sheer on the first, but built up nicely. Again, the shimmer really has me in love with this one!
Send in the Clown is a metallic rainbow glitter topper. I used one easy coat over Take It From the Taupe. The glitter went on easily and was very densely packed. Only one coat was needed to get really good coverage. Of course, it can be built up to use more coats than one, but I preferred this look. Just make sure you wait between coats to prevent the glitters from dragging.
Next up is an absolutely stunning gunmetal holo called Tools of the Trade. This one has a really good formula, but was slightly sheerer than I imagined due to the base color. Regardless, it went on easily in three thin coats. There were absolutely no issues with the formula and the holo was amazing. You can see the holo flame in low lighting as well! YES! No need to say more, just take a look at the pics below!
The only one I was sent from the Halloween Collection is called Little Miss Scare-All. This one is a dark purple jelly with pink shimmer and red and copper glitters. When I first opened the package and saw this one, I was very curious to how the colors I saw in the bottle would translate onto the nail. Fortunately, this polish met all of the expectations that I didn't even have. I mean....I LOVE THIS POLISH! Yes, I am screaming. No, I am not sorry for screaming at you. EVERYTHING about this polish is PERFECT! I absolutely adore the color combination used. The shimmer and glitter combo is astounding and the formula is nothing short of amazingly perfect. I know...I'm heavy on the adjectives with this one, but I truly can't help myself. I used two coats here. OK...just see for yourself.
Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with the polishes in these collections. I really need to get my hands on a few others from these collections. The Fall and Supernatural Collections are scheduled to be released on September 12th. The Halloween Collection will be launched on October 6th. The polished retail for $8-$9 for full sized bottles. Be sure to follow the brand on social media for additional information on the launch, new releases, and other fun things! All the info you need is below! Are you planning to pick up any of these?
