Happy Sunday lovelies!! Although the official start of the fall season has not yet arrived, the nail polish world is ready to go. I have another fall collection to share with you today. This time it is from the wonderful KBShimmer. As usual, the brand did not disappoint. To save myself from beig redundant, each of these polishes had excellent formulas. I had no issues with any of them. Let's go ahead and fall (pun intended) right into the review.
First up is, Jack, "a black jelly with orange hex glitters, a scattering of orange micro slices, and black hexes and shreds." This one is a popular polish that was discontinued, but has come back to grace us with it's gorgeousness. I used three thin coats and topcoat. I truly love the way the orange glitters appear to float about the black base. Perfect for the season and definitely a good one for Halloween!
Flannel Surfing, according to the brand, is "a faded blue polish with warm grey undertones, including pops of orange, aqua, and teal glitters." I used two coats and topcoat here. There were no application issues, but you should wait a bit between coats to prevent the glitters from dragging or sticking together. I love this color combo! I think it is absolutely adorable!
A Raisin to Live is "a deep and dark burgundy, blackened Ox-Blood colored polish full of holographic sparkles." I used three easy coats and topcoat for these photos. The blackened oxblood jelly is definitely a unique polish to my stash. I think this one is absolutely stunning!
Stone Washed, according to the brand, is "a dusty navy color." This is another example of the perfect cremes we've been getting from KBShimmer since the spring. It has a creamy thickness that makes application super easy. Thick, but in a good way. You know...like a Luke dancer. (haha!) Hopefully, you got that. This one was a complete one coater, but you know I used two as usual. Adding to the appeal of this dusty blue is the fact that it did not stain at all. BAM!
Hugs and Wishes is a "blue leaning pastel lavender creme." This is not a traditional fall color, but who cares? It's gorgeous and I am not one to stick to seasonal nail polish colors anyway. Perhaps that could change, since I now live in an area that experiences all of the seasons. Anyway, I digress. I used two coats for this one. The formula on this one is thinner than I'm used to with KBShimmer's cremes. Nonetheless, there were absolutely no application issues and it still only needed two coats to become opaque.
Next we have How You Dune?, "a 'greige' polish with the perfect blend of creamy beige and light grey." I can't help but to do the Wendy Williams' voice every time I read this one! To my complete amazement, this baby was completely opaque in just ONE coat. Un-freakin-believeable. I have yet to come across a neutral polish that is completely opaque in just one coat. Well, thanks Christy. KBShimmer has changed that. Although I'm all excited about this one coater, I used two! LOL! The formula had the thickness that I love from this brand's cremes and applied like buttah baby!
Kiss and Spell is the only glitter topper of this collection. It consists of "purple, orange, yellow and neon green swim in a sea of multi-colored hexes." This one is perfect for Halloween. I used one coat over each of the cremes from this collection and topped it off with topcoat. The formula was pretty good considering the density and size of the glitters included. I was able to spread one coat and place some of the glitters without any issues.
Rust No One is another holographic polish. This one is described as "a deep, rusty, red-leaning pumpkin color. Umm...yes please! I used two easy coats for these photos. This color is absolutely amazing! A perfect orange that is bright, while remaining subdued enough for the fall season.
Lastly, I have Leaf of Faith, "a deep cabernet-red jelly serving as the backdrop for glitters in red, orange and gold." I used two coats and had absolutely no issues at all. I really love the colors in this one, but the orange gets a little lost in the red base on the pictures. It's much more evident in person. The depth of this one is amazing!
As always, KBShimmer has hit us with another winning collection! I think the colors are perfect for the season, while remaining versatile enough to be worn throughout the entire year. The collection will be released on September 15th in the KBShimmer Online store (U.S. customers only) and Harlow & Co. (international customers). Please see the information below for additional ways to follow the brand and stockist. This is the best way to keep up with all of the latest news, release dates and times, and other fun things.
So that's all for today. Will you be picking up any? I recommend, well... ALL OF THEM! Sorry, I'm no help!
Have a great day!
