Happy Monday Polished Babes!! I hope your weekend went well. Mine? Well, we are finally on the last stretch for our big move to New England. Thankfully we have now settled on a home!! I'm really excited and it's so nice! Although hubby is working in Massachusetts, we will be living in New Hampshire. It's not a long commute at all though. Anyway, I have a review of a new subscription box called, Sweet Addictions. This box is a collaboration between Cupcake Polish, Aly's Dream Polish, and Sweet Baby by Donna. I was stoked when Sara from Cupcake Polish contacted me about reviewing this. I have never tried any products from this brand, so this was a great chance to give them a shot.
The first contribution to this box comes to you from Cupcake Polish. Although I have never tried the brand, I have seen some amazing holographic polishes that she has created. America the Beautiful is described as "a berry red linear holo with flecks of red sparkles added." Umm...WOW! This one had a perfect formula and went on without any issues in two easy coats. This one leans slightly more toward a fuchsia/pinkish type of color to me. Either way...I absolutely adore it and the holo is reallly strong.
The second polish contribution is Patriotic Blue by Aly's Dream Polish. Again, I have no experience with this brand, but I was pleasantly surprised. The formula was amazing and soooo easy to work with. It was opaque in one coat, but I always use at least two. I added topcoat as well. I was a tad concerned when I opened the box and saw this one because of the addition of the bar glitters into the holo base. However, I stand corrected and give mad props to the genius creator of this polish!! It is amazing! The glitters get somewhat lost in the base, but the sparsity of them add the perfect touch to an otherwise holo flooded indie market. I really like this one! I wore it for several days and there was no staining upon removal. Yay!
The last item provided is the Sweet Freedom cuticle oil from Sweet Baby by Donna. Again, being new to this brand (and always wanting to try it), I was happy to receive this to try out. As you already know, I am obnoxious when it comes to cuticle and hand care products, so this oil received a warm welcome into the family! The oil is lightly scented with a juicy watermelon fragrance. It comes in a full sized applicator with a roller ball. I love cuticle oils that come in this type of glass packaging with a rollerball because it is easily portable. You can take it with you anywhere, as it fits easily into a handbag, wallet, clutch, pocket, or any other type of carrying case you may have. You don't have to worry about it spilling and ruining your other items either. This oil is also vegan and free of any soy or nuts. I used it to moisturize my cuticles for these photos and it wasn't excessively greasy. It is really light and soaked into the skin, nails, and cuticles very quickly. I am showing it below on my naked nails as I prepared for bed. Love this oil and I will definitely try more products from this brand.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with this subscription box. My first experience with all of these brands has been really pleasant and I am definitely ready to try more products from each of them. The subscription box is limited edition and will only be available in a specific amount. This is the July box and will be available for purchase on June 25th from the Cupcake Polish Website. The box retails for $30 plus shipping. Most importantly, these polishes and scent of cuticle oil are exclusive to this particular box. They will not be sold separately.
