Hi there lovelies! I am super excited about this post! I was recently contacted by Pam of Girly Bits, asking if I would like to review for her brand. Ummm....yes ma'am!! Of course, I said yes! I LOVE Girly Bits nail polishes. On top of that, Pam has a proven reputation of consistency, quality, creativity, and excellent customer service. All that being said...I AM BESIDE MYSELF WITH EXCITEMENT! I was sent the new 80s Girls Bands Collection and No Such Thing As a Purple Problem to review for you. You are certainly in for a major treat!
Our Lips Are Sealed is described as "a fluorescent pink shimmolo, a pink holographic with violet and silver shimmer, plus silver holo sparks." This is such a bright an summery pink color. I used three easy coats here. The formula was perfect shimmery holo awesomeness! I adore this shade of pink and it seems to be one that would flatter any complexion.
Supersonic oohh oh oh oh! Sorry...I couldn't get that song out of my head after wearing this one! Supersonic is described by the maker as "a neon lime green jelly with golden and blue shimmer, and tiny blue flecks." This color did lean really neon yellowish/greenish to me. Regardless....I can't stand this! I mean that in the most flattering way possible! This polish is so fun and bright and the epitome of summer. It was sheer, so three coats and topcoat were used here. The formula was flawless.
Man Size Love...O. M. FREAKIN G!! This collection gets better and better with each polish! This one is described as "a deep periwinkle blue shimmolo" It consists of "blue shimmer and holo sparks accented with turquoise and aqua micro glitter." This one comes of as a blurple type of color, but deep periwinkle makes perfect sense! I used three thin coats and topcoat. The formula went on effortlessly and gave me no issues at all. I LOVE this polish, if you haven't already figured that out! Wow!
Neutron Dance is "a fluorescent pink crelly base with neon pink, yellow, and green hexes and squares, accented with silver holo sparks. This one is packed with glitter. I suggest allowing each coat to dry completely before applying the next. The glitters tend to drag a little, due to the density. The formula was rather sheer, but achieved a gorgeous color in three coats. I also added Gelous and topcoat to smooth everything out. I love this combo!
Congo is "an aqua crelly base with neon pink and white squares, lavender and teal hexes, plus aqua and white dots." I absolutely adore this color combo! These were the colors used in my room of our apartment during my freshman year of college! Those were the days! Anyway....this cutie pie went on easily in three coats. This is another one that should be allowed to dry completely between coats to prevent the glitters from dragging. I added Gelous and topcoat for a smooth and shiny finish. I'm still wearing this one now!
The Power of Love is described by the creator as "a lavender holo sprinkled with lavender, sea green and silver holo glitter, plus purple shimmer and sparks of silver holo." This combo is so unique and beautiful, I can't even describe it. Unfortunately, my pictures don't adquately capture the total beauty of this one. I sowwy. You'd be happy to know that this is another polish with a flawless formula. It went on easily in two coats. Topcoat was used for these pictures as well.
Bette Davis Eyes "is a silver white fine texture with sparks of silver holo plus blue and pink shimmer." Sigh...I mean, seriously. What am I supposed to say? This is sheer perfection. The formula was amazing in two coats. It is shown here without topcoat to show off the beautiful lightly textured finish.
I'm Your Venus is "a metallic copper shimmolo, with copper shimmer and sparks of gold holo." Yep. This is my kind of polish and color! This is one of the first ones I wore and I didn't want to remove it! I used two coats out of habit, but this one was opaque in one. This is a great polish that can be worn throughout the entire year!
Walk Like an Egyptian is "a metallic golden bronze shimmolo, a bronze holographic with sparks of gold holo." This one pulled more toward a true gold than that of a bronze on my complexion. Regardless....LOVE! I used three easy coats and topcoat here. This one is so classy!
Push It is described by the maker as "a holo base with gold, copper, and gunmetal glitter, plus silver and charcoal glitter, gunmetal flakes and sparks of silver and gold holo." Again...this is another one that the song kept playing in my head! All I hear is..."Ssss Salt and Peppa's here!" LOL! Anyway, I used two coats and topcoat. The formula was fantastic. This is another truly unique polish to my collection and I can't wait to wear it again.
No Such Thing As A Purple Problem is "a grape purple jelly micro glitter with solver holo sparks, dark purple, copper, and aqua shimmer. Yes, please! This is me all day errday! Haha! This one is a heavy leaning blue toned purple. The formula was magnificent and absolutely perfect in just one coat. Yeah...you know I still used two, but still, one coat is really all you need. This is absolutely purple perfection!
Overall, I can't be any happier with this collection from Girly Bits. I mean...how does one create a collection that is nearly perfect in every way? I don't know, but it seems Pam has figured it out. The 80s Girls Bands Collection, along with No Such Thing As A Purple problem and two other new polishes will be released on June 19, 2014 at NOON (12 pm) EDT. I really can't decide on a favorite from this collection, but I know Man Size Love, No Such Thing As A Purple Problem, and Push It are among my top picks. What are yours? Do you plan on getting anything from this collection? Let me know in the comments!
