Howdy there Polished Babes! I am sooooooo late with this review due to my recent health issues. I'm so sorry, but you know how life gets sometimes. I am still trying to get back to my normal self, but we shall see how that works. Anyway, I have a new to me brand to show you today. Doctor Lacquer is a relatively new indie brand that has hit the scene with some major creativity and super unique polish creations. Let's jump right in...
Botany Plants Lately? is a white crelly full of pastel glitters in multiple sizes and shapes. Among these shapes, you have flowers and hexes. The formula was very sheer, so I used two coats over white undies. Due to the sheerness, there was still some patchiness, but I think it came together great over the white. I used topcoat to smooth it all out.
I'm Lavender Rain is another white crelly with a milky type of consistency. It has various pastel circle glitters included throughout the base. The formula on this one was also really sheer; however, application was significantly easier than that of its partner above. I actually really liked this one alone, as the milky crelly base added a great depth to the overall look. I used three easy coats and topcoat here.
Hormonal Efficiency Collection
Adrenaline is a cold sensitive thermal polish crelly polish that is yellow when warm and orange when cold. It has lilac, lavender, magenta, and purple hexes, squares, and dots. Application was great and I only needed two coats for opacity. The transition was a rather drastic one. Unfortunately, my hands had to be near freezing to get any changes and they transitioned back rather quickly. Either way, this is a really cute polish!
Dopamine is a warm sensitive thermal crelly that is purple when cold and blue when warm. It has lavender, lilac, and yellow circles, hexes, and dots. The formula was perfect! I used three coats and topcoat. I love how this one was an instant gradient manicure! This one is my favorite!
Estrogen is a cold sensitive pinkish mauve toned crelly with green and pink dots and hexes. This one was super sheer and required about 4-5 coats to achieve the opacity shown here. This one is the pinkish color when warm and changes to purple when cold. Again, my hands needed to be freezing to achieve any type of changes. This one is very unique to my collection.
Oxytocin is another warm sensitive thermal jelly that is clear when warm and dark pink when cold. This one has fuchsia, orange, and pink glitters. It also has pink hearts! I dabbed on the glitters since the formula was really thick. I needed a thick coat of Gelous and topcoat to get this one to even out. I wasn't able to get this one to transition with any of my multiple efforts.
Seratonin is a warm sensitive crelly that is a vivid green when cold and lime green when warm. It has fuchsia, teal, and turquoise glitters. The formula was sheer, but went on easily in three coats. I love this one so much! I've worn it twice! LOL! I was only able to get a subtle change in this one as well. You can see the lime more towards the base of my nail and it gets slightly darker towards the nail edge.
Testosterone is a cold sensitive crelly that is blue when wamr and purple when cold. It has yellow, purple, and silver dots, hexes, and flowers. This one went on easily in four coats with topcoat to smooth it out. I love the colors used in this one as well! So creative!
Overall, I must say these are some really good polishes from Doctor Lacquer. I love how she has distinguished between the polishes being sensitive to change in the heat versus the cold. That's very important to know! I must admit that some of my issues with the transitions of these thermals are likely due to my health conditions. My medications have caused me to have an elevated bdy temperature, which likely impacted the transition of some of these. Regardless, I like them!
