Happy Friday Polished Babes! Today I have another link up post with the lovely ladies of the Central Florida Beauty Bloggers. As many of you already know, my family is moving away from the Central Florida area and we will be residents of New England in late July. Unfortunately, that means my time with this wonderful group is very short. I truly enjoy these linked posts and the awareness that is brought to many causes.
Today we are creating looks using purple for Lupus Awareness month. Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that impacts many areas of the body. Some of the symptoms include: extreme fatigue, headaches, anemia, painful joints, hair loss, abnormal blood clotting, and various other issues. I know a few people who are battling this illness and life is not fun for them. I always admire their ability to put on a happy face and always have a glowing sense of hope, optimism, and inspiration to others.
For my manicure I used four polishes: China Glaze In a Lily Bit (very light pinkish toned lavender), Zoya Hudson (lavender with silver shimmer), Zoya Mira (blue toned purple creme), and Zoya Belinda (jewel toned purple with shimmer). I started off with two coats of China Glaze In a Lily Bit and added topcoat to help it dry quickly.
I then added horizontal stripes on the pinky and middle fingers using all of the other colors mentioned above. I added metallic silver striping tape to separate the colors. I also added a French tip to the index and ring fingers. I finished these nails off with the addition of a small silver stud.
I really like the way all of these purple tones came together to create this look. I wanted to stick with all purples, so I chose these based on colors that would look good in an ombre manicure. What do you think?
