Twinsie Tuesday- Grunge Nails

Purchased by Me
Happy Twinsie Tuesday lovelies!! I'm going to dive right into today's post and begin with an admission. I cheated. I took the easy way out for this post and didn't even attempt to do actual "grunge nail art." A few weeks ago, I took the time to research the theme. I went to Pinterest and pinned multiple grunge manicures. I even went to the nail queen, Sarah of Chalkboard Nails' blog and watched her awesome tutorial. I did all of this with good intentions. Really. Sigh...but, after all of that preparation, I chickened out.. What can I say? It happened. I did it and I'm woman enough to admit it...

So where did my chickening out lead me? On a very good note, it allowed me to knock out a few untrieds! We all know that's a daunting task alone. The perfect polish came to mind for today's theme. Grunge by Cult Nails. Hehe....I told you I cheated! Grunge is described by the maker as "a military green creme." I used two coats of this baby and it was PERFECTION! The formula practically applied itself and I really could have gone with only one. I am so happy to have fallen in love with this brand, as they have not disappointed me yet.

So after finishing my "Grunge Nails" for today's theme, I felt a little guilty about my ridiculous lack of effort. I decided to spruce it up a bit and add a touch of grunge to Grunge. Get it? Sorry...I'm really corny at times! I pulled out another untried, Cult Nails Blaze, a gold and copper glitter topper. I added two coats over my ring finger. This is a super blingy polish with the perfect amount of glitters. It was really easy to apply.

My self-condemnation continued and forced my to paint half of my middle finger with Cult Nails Fetish, a wax finish black polish. I absolutely love this polish. It is the epitome of a sexy black. This is one black that I will NEVER be without. I added golden studs to separate Fetish and Grunge.

I must say I am really pleased with the outcome of this mani!! After beginning with a truly shameful and lazy mani, whose only relationship to the weekly theme was the name of the polish, I think I pulled it off! Haha! Sad...I know. Be sure to stay tuned because I am actually going to attempt an actual grunge mani really soon. I have heard that it's easier than it appears. Although that's no real comfort for me (since I am no real nail artist), I will give it a good try.
