KBShimmer Spring 2014 Collection Review

Press Sample
Happy Friday Polished Babes!! I am really excited for this post because I have some polishes from the new Spring 2014 Collection from KBShimmer to show you. If you're an indie fanatic like me, I am certain you've heard of the brand. Plus, you already know this is one of my favorite brands. After completing my stash count the other day, I concluded that I have a MAJOR problem. Who am I kidding? It's totally normal to have 2,083 nail polishes, right? Hehe! Anyway, out of those 2,083 polishes, 58 are from KBShimmer! You may think I'm nuts, but you will soon understand the reason why I have so many.

*KBShimmer Clearly on Top Quick Dry Topcoat was used for these manicures.*

I have four polishes out of the 16 that are set to be released next week. If you want a preview of the other colors in the collection, please take a look at the press release. Let's get this party started! First up is Daisy About You, which is a pale/mint green crelly with neon green, purple, and lavender hexes and lavender daisies. This one intrigued me when I first read the description. Although I am not always into the shaped glitters, these daisies work very well in this polish. They are perfectly proportioned and don't become overwhelming. I used three thin coats for full coverage. Two light coats of Clearly on Top were used for a smooth and glossy finish.

Chick Me Out is a super bright yellow cream polish with a glossy finish. I used two easy coats and was pleasantly surprised at the formula. We all know that yellows can sometimes be a pain to apply; however, this polish went on well. It was slightly streaky on the first coat, but evened out and was amazingly self-leveling with the second coat. I did NOT use topcoat with this polish because it was super glossy alone. I think this shade of yellow is really flattering. Definitely perfect for the spring and a go to for the summer.

Rush Flower Traffic is an awesome glitter topper filled with fuchsia, blue, aqua, green, and gold hex and circle glitters. This one is packed with glitter! I used one coat over Chick Me Out and the glitters really popped! Although there are a lot of glitters included, application was really easy. The glitters spread easily across the nail and there was no dragging. I used one coat of topcoat.  OMG...seriously...just...WOW! I am loving this combo! I can't wait to pair this glitter with different color creams.

The last polish I have to show you is called Quick & Flirty. This is an absolutely amazing purple linear holographic polish. When I pulled it out of the package, I was completely taken aback by the extreme holo. Fortunately, the holo that can be seen in the bottle, is just as amazing when applied to the nail. I believe this is my first holo from KBShimmer, but if this is how they roll, then it surely won't be my last. I applied two coats, but it was practically opaque in one. One thin coat of topcoat was used and it did not impact the intensity of the holo at all.

SIGH...I don't even know what to say. These polishes are all a win for me. What do you think? Do you have your eyes on any from this collection? I certainly can't wait to grab a few others when they are launched. I will be stalking some of my favorite blogs to see swatches of the additional 12 polishes.

The KBShimmer Spring 2014 Collection is scheduled to be released on March 14, 2014 at 10am EST. Make sure you mark your calendar. Don't worry if you cannot be there at the very minute of the launch, because they will be available. The manner in which launches are handled is something that I have always admired about this brand. It is always smooth, drama free, and I don't have to put my "psycho crazy super dee duper refreshing like a mad woman" game face on to get any! Haha...you know what I mean! The polishes in the glitter collection retail for $8.75 for a full sized (15 ml) bottle, and the polishes in the cream collection retail for $7.50 for a full sized (15 ml) bottle.

You can also follow the brand on FacebookTwitterPinterest, and Instagram.

Happy Friday!

You are going to love it. The red? Oh maybe you're speaking of the coral one. I have seen that a lot of swatches have shown it as leaning more red, but if you check out some other blogs, you should see it's true coral color as well. I am glad you like the swatches! thank you for commenting!

  20. Hey girl, I love these on you! I was curious about your photo setup, do you use indoor light, a light box, the sun, etc. to capture these beautiful pics? Also what camera do you have? I'm in the market for a new one :)
