Barielle Sophisticated Lady Collection

Press Sample
Happy Friday Lovelies!! I really hope your week went well. Again, I am extremely tired and I am looking forward to the weekend. I really want to relax in my bed all day. Who am I kidding? That won't happen. Not with three little people running around the house all day. Sigh.... Well, I will try and sneak a nap when my daughter takes hers. Anyway, let's get to the review of the Barielle Sophisticated Lady Collection.

In Good Taste is a deep chocolate brown creme. I used two easy coats without topcoat. Like many of the other Barielle polishes I have tried, this baby has an excellent formula. It is such a beautiful brown and very flattering on my complexion.

Dinner at 8 is a deep red creme. It is more of a blue based red and not super bright at all. It's the perfect shade for a sophisticated collection, such as this one. The formula was a tad tricky to work with. I found it more sheer than what I would have thought, it had more of a thin jelly consistency. I used three coats without topcoat. I love this red. It is a different red for me, as I tend to flock toward the brighter, orange based reds.

Tres Chic is a deep blackened blue creme. I love this color so much! The formula was practically opaque in one coat, but I used two because...well...that's how I roll. Hehe! This one is also shown without topcoat. I love how easy this formula was to apply and the gloss finish is amazing. This one is a great alternative to a black polish. It has the same sort of appeal as wearing a black polish, but with an added twist!

London High Tea is a pretty rose pink with golden shimmer. The shimmer was very apparent in person, but failed to translate into my pics. I sowwy <insert sad face here> I used two coats and topcoat for these photos. The formula was great. I absolutely love this pink! It plays well with my new shimmer obsession!

Edgy is a deep purple crelly polish. Again, the formula was amazing and went on easily with two coats. I could wear this shade for the rest of my life and be completely happy! It's dark, vampy, and sexy! I like the opacity of it since it treads that line of being super dark, but doesn't cross over into looking black. WIN!

I decided to do a skittle dotticure using all of the shades from this collection. Here it is with topcoat.

I was also sent the Barielle Matte-inee topcoat to review. This topcoat is marketed for multiple purposes as a nail conditioner, strengthener, and protector. It also provides a matte finish to any manicure to give you a completely different look. I haven't used this for the other purposes described, but I have used it as a topcoat multiple times and I am really pleased. I really like how it dries quickly and doesn't leave that chalky residue that some matte topcoats leave. I think it is great and I look forward to using it more in the future. It retails for $16 for a full sized bottle and is well worth the price!

Overall, I am in love with this collection! I think the name suits it perfectly, as it screams sophistication! My favorite shades are Edgy and Tres Chic. They are sure to be worn more often. You can purchase this collection by going to Barielle's Website. Each polish retails for $8 for a full sized bottle. You can also purchase the entire collection as a kit for $25 by clicking HERE.

Any favorites? Have you tried Barielle yet?

Born Pretty Store Smiling Face Water Decals

Press Sample
Happy Thursday Polished Babes!! I hope you are having a great week. I am trying to push through, but I have been extremely exhausted lately. I really don't know the cause, but I may need to have my thyroid and Vitamin D levels checked soon. Sigh...anyway, I won't bore you with anymore of my life's details. Today I have a review of some water decals from The Born Pretty Store. This was my first time using water decals and it was much easier than I imagined.

I started with two coats of Zoya Rocky, a pretty blue cream polish with an excellent formula.

I added the water decals using the directions provided on the packet, but I will list them here for your reference.

1. Polish nails and allow to dry.
2. Cute out the nail design and remove the clear plastic cover.
3. Dip the decal in water for approximately 10-20 seconds.
4. Wet the nail.
5. Remove the decal from the paper backing.
6. Apply decal to the wet area of the nail.
7. Sponge off excess water and apply topcoat.

Here's a macro of the thumbnail, so you can see the decal design.

At first I wasn't sure how I felt about these designs, but I found them to be fun and they really popped against the blue nail polish. I wore these decals for a couple of days and they did not move at all. Again, they were super easy to use and really added a bit of spunk to a plain manicure. You can check out these decals by clicking HERE, but be sure to look around the Born Pretty Store Site, as they have so many great water decal designs. I have some others to show you soon. If you decide to place an order, don't forget to use my coupon code EQL91 for an extra 10% off and you always get free shipping.

What do you think of these decals? Have you ever used water decals for your manis?

Twinsie Tuesday- Favorite Nail Polish Brand

Purchased by Me
Happy Twinsie Tuesday lovelies! I cannot even begin to tell you how ready I am for my graduation in May. Seriously. I am so over school right now. As much as I love learning and enjoy social work, I am ready for this to be OVER. Like now. Sigh.... Anyway, today the Twinsies are showing you our favorite nail polish brand. I am a huge fan on Zoya Nail Polishes and it is definitely my favorite mainstream brand at the moment. The quality, variety, and consistency of the formulas are just amazing. My favorite indie brand is Jindie Nails and you know I've said that a milliion times. There are some very, very close seconds, but I lerves mah Jindies! Hehe!

So instead of showing you my favorite brand, I decided to give you the best (well, in my opinion) of both worlds. I started with 3 coats of Zoya Lola, which is a vibrant pink with a blueish/purpleish shimmer. GAH...this is seriously amazing! I recently fell in love with pink polishes and this one is a must have. I am so happy I got it! Kendi picked it out for our manis and pedis on Sunday and I love it on both of us!

Here is a solo shot where you can see the shimmer really well. Isn't that pretty?

As I mentioned above, I decided to give you my indie favorite as well. I paired Jindie Nails Barbies Have More Fun with Lola and I think the combo is a win! I also added some black studs on the pinky and index fingers to draw out the colors in the Jindie polish.  What do you think of this combo?

This was a really cool Twinsie Tuesday prompt. I've shown you my favorite mainstream and indie polishes, what are yours? Let me know in the comments section below.

Don't forget to check out the other Twinsies' blogs to see what they chose as their favorite brands.

Pretty & Polished H-equinox My Socks Off & Zoya Liberty

Purchased by Me
Happy Monday lovelies! My hubby is back, parents are gone, sister-in-law left, and my brother and nephew are still here for now. I really enjoyed spending time with my family this weekend, but I am extremely tired. Today I have another recent manicure to share with you. This mani reminded me of why I really love the P&P brand and need to use them more often.

I received Pretty & Polished H-equinox My Socks Off from my girl Tamala, in our Secret Santa Swap last Christmas. The polish is super cute and the epitome of a classy crelly glitter. It has a gray/taupe crelly base with metallic gold and vivid blue glitters. I'm not sure if I have ever seen this combination before, but it is really beautiful. I used 3 thin coats and topcoat. I wore this mani for about 5 days and it still looked really good when I removed it.

I added an accent of Zoya Liberty to add a slight pop to the neutral tone of the base. I think Liberty matched perfectly with the blue glitters in the polish.

What do you think of this polish? Do you ever mix textures and finishes? I really love this glitter, as it is speaking to my newly toned down love for different polishes. Have you noticed me saying that a lot lately? I wonder why that happened all of a sudden. Is it a phase? Here to stay? I guess we will see.

Contrary Polish: 18th & Vine and Gift Wrap

Purchased by Me
Happy Saturday Polished Babes! I want to start off by saying Happy Birthday to my mother-in-law. She would've been 63 today, but unfortunately she is in heaven. This is the first birthday without her and I am praying my hubby is okay in Philly for this occasion. Unlike some people, I was fortunate enough to have a MIL that I truly loved and enjoyed. She was funny, outgoing, and had a really humble spirit. She could throw it down in the kitchen too! I truly appreciated her for welcoming me into the family with open arms. I mean...she is solely responsible for MY MAN! (hehe) I am so happy that I was able to thank her for the sacrifices she made to raise my husband into the man he is for me and our children. I shared these feelings with her a few months before she passed away and I am happy that she knew how I felt about her.

Today I have some super pretty beauties from Contrary Polish to show you. These polishes perfectly capture my most recently polish fetish...Shimmer. I know that sounds weird but, I have seriously fallen in love with simmer polishes. From subtle to very apparent, I am in LOVE with this finish. Contrary Polish has an excellent range of polishes and her shimmers are to die for.

This first polish is called 18th & Vine. This one is a beautiful blue polish with purple undertones and pink shimmer. The formula was great and it went on very smoothly. This is such a beautiful polish and it is surely a staple in my collection.

Don't you love this?! The AHHH....

Gift Wrap is a purple with a teal colored iridescent shimmer. Hold on while I pick my jaw up off the floor. This makes no sense at all. Gorgeous is an understatement!! This is one of those polishes that will definitely get a lot of play from me. Again, the formula was fantastic and I am in L.O.V.E.

Shimmer, shimmer, shimmer...

I just wanted to show you a couple of my most recent manis. I also used these as undies for The Octopus Party Lacquers I reviewed HERE. I have a full house, minus hubby for the weekend. My mom, dad, brother, sister-in-law, and nephew are visiting for the weekend. Hubby comes back from Philly tomorrow and I miss him. He's been gone since Tuesday, so it will be great for him to be back home.

Happy Saturday!

Shimmer Polish Sarah, Trisha, & Jacki

Press Sample
Hi there lovelies! I hope your week is moving along well thus far. Thank you to everyone who wished my son a happy birthday! He had an awesome day. Now I have to do this again in a few weeks for my oldest son's 10th birthday. Where does the time go? seems like they were just babies! Today I have three pretty polishes from Shimmer Polish to show you. As usual, Cindy makes the best polishes with the most unique mixtures of microglitters ever. I'm sure you will like these a lot.

Sarah is a mixture of very pretty turquoise, green, silver, and purple glitters in a sheer base. I used two light coats over a bight blue creme polish. This one really reminded me of a mermaid! Oh so pretty!

Trisha is another sheer base with orange, copper, gold, and blue microglitters. I applied one coat over a coral creme polish. I seriously love how this one shined so bright! my nails were really blingy and I received a lot of compliments when I wore this combo. This is definitely my kind of glitter topper!

Jacki is a deep violet tinted jelly with maroon, blue, purple, and silver glitters. A-MA-ZING! WOW! I love everything about this! I used three thin coats and the formula was fantastic! One light coat of topcoat brought out the depth and shine. This is definitely drool worthy. Perfect for the purple lovers out there!

Love this macro shot! You can see all of the gorgeous colors!

What do you think of these Shimmer Polishes? I am loving each one and really having a hard time finding a favorite. I'm partial to Jacki because she's purple, but the coral combo with Trisha really makes me smile! Be sure to check out Shimmer Polish on her website by clicking HERE. You can also go straight to her Etsy shop by clicking HERE. Don't forget to follow the brand on FacebookInstagram, and Twitter.

Have a great day!

The Jiggles Collection by Loaded Lacquer

Press Sample
Happy Hump Day Polished Babes!!! Today is my middle child's birthday! My Tony is 9 years old!! Happy Birthday Tony Dude! I really love that little boy more that he will ever know. He's so smart, silly, and just a great kid. He's always a joy and I am blessed to be his mother. Today I have a review of some pretties by the awesome Heather of Loaded Lacquer. These awesome jellies come in a variety of bold and vibrant colors. I have four to show you today. I am also including some of Heather's glitter creations with these looks. In order to avoid any crazy redundancy, I will just say that all of these polishes have fantastic formulas. The jiggles have perfect jelly formulas and the glitters are super easy to use.

Coconut is a white crelly that is sheer and can be layered to achieve your desired look. I used three coats without topcoat for these pictures. Alone, it is simple, clean, and versatile.

I added a lightly dabbed coat of Faded to Pink, a beautiful glitter topper with pink, white, and brown glitters in a clear base. This glitter combo is so fun and girly. Not a kiddie girly, but perfect for the grown woman!

I decided to create a jelly sammich and layered an additional layer of  Coconut after the addition of Faded to Pink and it resulted in an instant transformation! Practically a brand new mani!

Licorice is a black jelly polish with a really sheer formula. Well...of course, it's a jelly! Duh! Haha! Anyway, the sheerness of the formula makes this black perfect to use for almost anything. Here it is layered with 3 coats and no topcoat. Do you see that shine?! WOW!

To spice up this black polish, I added The Dog At My Homework glitter topper. This is such a fun mix and I really love how the name plays on the shreds of glitter that are included! It is a mixture of lime green, white, black, and silver glitters in a clear base. How cute is this?!

Again, I created a jelly sammich by adding an additional layer of Licorice over the glitter topper. I cannot get enough of this! I makes it look like the glitters are floating on the nail! Ahhhh!!!!

Island Punch is a vibrant blue jelly polish. This color is just gorgeous! Again, three coats were used without topcoat and it still shined like crazy.

Although Island Punch is perfect all alone, I added a dabbed coat of Bathtub Time Machine. These go great together and the bright glitters really pop over the vibrant blue base. guessed it! Another jelly sammich! One coat of Island Punch was added after the glitter. This one didn't translate to the nail as well as the others because of the bright blue color. It was still really cute though.

Fig is a deep purple jelly polish. Although this one appeared to be the darkest (beside the black), it seemed to be more sheer and took four coats to reach the look shown below. I did not use topcoat.

As soon as I saw this one, I knew I needed to pair it with Fluffy Macaroons. This is such a lovely glitter combo and consists of lavender, periwinkle, white, pale yellow, and mint colored glitters in a clear base. Gah....I just love this glitter. Feminine. Delicate. Just gorgeous.

To create the jelly sammich, I added a very light coat of Fig. I really LOVE how this one turned out! It's always so amazing to see the transformation of the glitters once sandwiched!

As with everything I have tried from Loaded Lacquer, these polishes are top notch! Heather came out with a bang at the end of last year and she continues to produce fun, creative, and high quality nail polishes. Be sure to head over to the website to check out the Jiggle Collection and all of the other pretties that are available today. Click HERE to go directly to the site. Be sure to follow the brand on TwitterFacebookPinterest, and Instagram.

What do you think of these? Have you ever created any jelly sammiches?

Twinsie Tuesday- My Nail Polish Collection

Nothing to Disclose
Howdy there Polished Babes! I have been M.I.A. for real! Sigh...what can I say I have absolutely no excuse but to admit that I have been quite lazy lately. <hangs head in shame> Well, I'm back with a very different Twinsie Tuesday post for you today. For today's prompt, the Twinsies are all showing off our nail polish stashes. To be honest, I waited waaaaay too long to complete this post and nothing went quite as I desired. I wanted to do a video of my stash, but I had too  many issues with that. First, the lighting was wrong. Then, my daughter came in crying in the middle of the video. During the last try (which I thought was okay), I noticed the sound started acting up. Oh well...I really could not try it again, so pictures are what you get!

Here is my current manicure area set up. I am in the process to moving into a nail room/slash office, so this will be very different soon.

As you can see to the left of my desk, I have one "Melmer." I purchased this last week, in an attempt to better organize my stash. I quickly realized that I actually need one more and I will be completely settled!
Yes, those are my lovely Valentine's Day cards from my hubby!
Here are both of my Helmers. I usually keep them in my bedroom closet, but as I mentioned above, I am in the process of moving. They will be safe and sound in their new home very soon!

I use snapware containers to store all of my minis. I currently have 2 and there's only a small amount of space left in one. Apparently, I need to grab another one of these when I go back to Target. I have minis from various brands including, Jindie Nails, Dollish Polish, GlitterDaze, Duh Nail Polish, Butter London, Polish Addict, and many more.

These are the two bottom drawers of the Helmers. I like to store my polishes with like bottles or boxes. I prioritize by brand and then by color, most of the time. I must admit that things are not as organized as I usually like, as I haven't been keeping up with everything as I should. These drawers have Lacquer Lust, Rainbow Honey, Pretty Serious, Illamasqua, NCLA, Enchanted, Marc Jacobs and many others on the left. The drawer on the right consists of B Squared, Polished by KPT, Liquid Sky, Glam Polish, Tillie Polish and other Indie polish brands.

The drawer on the right is one of my FAVORITES! It houses my Rescue Beauty Lounge collection (I have 6 arriving today!), ILNP, Dior, Deborah Lippman, and Illamasqua. Sigh....what a joyful sight to see! The drawer on the left has my Picture Polish, Dance Legend, Freak Show Polish, XOXO Nail Candy, and other awesome indie brands!

These next drawers have a variety of Indie Brand including, Scofflaw, Urban Lacquer, Sonnetarium, Shimmer Polish, Girly Bits, Polish Me Silly, Pahlish, Polish Addict, Black Cat, Black Luna, & Lumina. Hehe!

Here we have Lynnderella Polishes (stay tuned for a major destash sale on some of these), Femme Fatale Cosmetics, and Emily de Molly.

These are the final two drawers of the black and white Helmer. These drawers have another one of my favorite indie brands...KBShimmer. In addition, there are Dollish Polish, Above the Curve, Daring Digits, A England, and Hare Polish.
Gosh...these are such beauties!!! Here we have Elevation Polish, Wicked Polish, Colors by Llarowe, Sindie POP, Loaded Lacquer, Pipe Dream, Laquerlicious, Different Dimension and a few other indie brands.

What can I say about this drawer?!! we have my wonderful collection of Jindie Nails and Cult Nails polishes! These are two of my favorite brands of polishes. Period. There are also some beauties from the Nail Junkie, My Ten Friends, and GlitterDaze.

Besides a few store brands, this is my entire stash. I have a trunk and a few cubes that I haven't organized yet. I will be sure to update this post and post them on my Instagram and Pinterest once I have done so. I have absolutely no idea how many polishes I have at this point. Any guesses? I plan to get completely organized and have an accurate count really soon. Take a stab at your best guess in the comments and there could be a surprise for the person who gets the correct answer or comes the closest.

I am so excited to see the other Twinsies' stashes today. Be sure to check them out using the link below!
