Topping the Charts in 2013- Indies

Hello lovelies!!! This year has flown by so quickly! I don't know about you, but I have had so many experiences and life changes take place this year. I am so thankful for everything that I have been blessed with, including my husband, children, family, education, and this blog. Thanks so much for your support of Polished to Precision since I started on August 1st. I look forward to continued growth and success in 2014. Today's post is showcasing my top pics over this year. As you all know, I LOVE indie polishes, so this category was particularly difficult for me to narrow down . I think I did it, but I am almost certain I will remember a gem or two once I publish this post! These are presented in no particular order because I couldn't manage to rank them. Too much for me to handle! Ha!

Nail Fabulosity is a relatively new indie brand that I had the pleasure to work with recently. Although, all of the polishes I was sent to review were amazing, I knew I'd love this one when I first saw it in the bottle. Cookies, Cream, & Funfetti is absolutely PERFECT! I LOVE everything about this polish and I purchased a full sized bottle because it just wowed me! The application, formula, glitter combo, and milky white base are all wins in my book.

Vanilla Lace by Polish Addict Nail Color stole my heart from the first bottle shot. When Laura contacted me about reviewing this collection, I was truly hoping this one would be included. The feminine nature and pure delicacy of this polish is simply amazing. I really don't have much more to add but, I adore this one so much!

This next beauty comes from Polish Addict as well. November Rain is truly amazing!! I love the bright blue base color of this one.

Skin of the Night by Black Cat Lacquer is a beautiful purple jelly with blue and black shreds and gold flakies. This polish is truly regal and I love it!

Change the Game by B Squared Lacquer is the perfect emerald green holo. I drooled over this one once Mia started previewing polishes for her new line and I knew it had to be mine. Make sure you stay tuned to B Squared Lacquer, as I am sure we will see some amazing creations from this new brand in 2014.

Cult Nails Fetish is an amazing wax finish black. This polish can be summed up in one word...Sexy.

Daily Lacquer Seeing Beyond is such a cute and fun mix of neon glitters in a grey crelly base. I think this is a super fun and creative polish. There's no way I could leave this one off!

Ninja Polish Mystic Glacier is one of those polishes that truly catch you off guard. A bottle shot does it no justice, but as soon as swatches began to appear, this one could never stay in stock. This is one time I am thankful for my insomnia, as I received the in stock notification for this one in the late night hours. Do you see that shimmer? Dead.

Polish Me Silly (formerly Lush Lacquer) released a thermal jelly polished called Mermaid Tears and I was lucky enough to win her in a giveaway! This is truly unique and I think it is the cutest combination of colors with the glitters and the thermal transitions.

Polished by KPT Nostalgia was one of the first thermals I ever purchased and it is PERFECT! I love the colors and this brand really knows how to do a thermal polish. Just look at this baby...how could she not be in the top picks?!

The next two polishes come from the highly coveted brand Enchanted Polish. Where do I start? LOL! When I fell in love with this brand at the end of 2012, they were pretty easy to obtain at the launches and restocks. Hmpf....things have drastically changed since then. You have to be a ninja to get your hands on these babies when Chelsea releases them! Well...two of them standout to me for this year. All of the ones I own (no I will not tell you how many...hehe), are gorgeous but these are the two that I just had to have.

July 2013 was a much different experience than all of the other restocks and launches I'd experienced at that time. The brand had become so popular that you could barely afford to blink at the launch time. Well...I did and I missed her. But my great friend Debbie gifted July to me for my birthday! Mints were a true hit for me this year and I am so glad I have this one! isn't it gorg?! Seven Nation Army is another gem that escaped me during it's initial launch. Fortunately, I was able to snag it in an awesome swap! Here I layered it over July 2013, which was a perfect combination.

Cadillacquer Cute Poison is a polish that I fell in love with before starting my blog (hence, the different watermark). This one never appeared on the blog but I had to show it to you today. I'm sure you can see why it's included in this list. Perfect, perfect, perfect. That's all!

Another new brand that I have come to love is Loaded Lacquer. Heather really came out and made a huge statement with her beautiful collections, labels, and awesome customer service. Vintage Metals is gorgeous and I love it was a jelly sammich!

The last polishes I have to show you are from some of my absolute FAVORITE indie brands! So not only are these polishes top picks for the year...these brands are my go to and have never failed me!

Whimsical Ideas by Pam Big River is a stunning vivid blue jelly with green microglitter. Ummm....YES! Pam truly hit the ball out of the park, down the street, and into the river with this one!

Picture Polish Sea Jewel is such a gorgeous green, I can't even begin to describe how much I love this one. As with the many other Picture Polishes I own, this is perfect in all aspects. LOVE!!

I Got a Crush on Blue by KBShimmer is ridiculously gorgeous! I mean, the depth of this polish is truly one of a kind! Even though it is packed with glitters, KBShimmer still manages to create the perfect formula. This is another one I wore before I started blogging. I LOVE THIS!

Jindie Nails Princess Breath is one of those beautfiful crelly glitter bomb creations that we have come to love from Jen. She has seriously nailed this formula and the glitter combo here is adorable!

Last, but definitely not least, is Jindie Nails Rave. If I were to actually rank these polishes, this would be the top or at least an extremely close second. Although no one really speaks of it, Jen was the first to create a milky white crelly polish with translucent neon glitters. Yep. I said it. It's true. She gets no credit for the movement she began in this genre, but she definitely deserves it! Rave is super fun and cute! I cannot even begin to explain how much I truly love this polish.

I cannot end this post without giving a MAJOR shoutout to one of the best indie products I have found this year. Actually, this is one of the best nail products...PERIOD. HK Girl Topcoat by Glisten & Glow is THE BEST TOPCOAT EVER!!! Seriously, I haven't looked back since I first tried this earlier this year. This topcoat gives me everything I need. Durability. Check. High Gloss Finish. Check. Super dee duper fast dying time. Check. Affordable Price. Check. If you haven't tried it...WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN? Haha...no really, your New Year's resolution needs to be BUY ALL THE HK GIRL!!

That's all for my indie favorites for 2013. What do you think about my picks? Are any of these polishes in your stash or on your wishlists?

Have a very Happy and Blessed New Year!

Topping the Charts in 2013- Mainstream

Hello lovelies!!! Hopefully, you are continuing to have a Happy Holiday season and all is well with you and your family! Today's post is the mainstream component of my top polishes of 2013. These are in no particular order, as I wasn't even willing to attempt to tackle that part. It took me long enough to come up with these 15 polishes but, here you go!

First off is OPI A Gown Needs a Crown, a silver satin finish polish. This is a perfect silver. Not too metallic, shiny, or blingy. It's THE silver polish I have always wanted in my collection.

Zoya Dream is literally a dream! It is a vivid blue polish with scattered holographic particles in a jelly base. Yep...Zoya did that! I am sure this one will be featured in the tops picks of a lot of people.

OPI Alcatraz...Rocks! is the most beautiful textured polish on the market. Well, in my humble opinion, at the least. When OPI first came out with their Liquid Sand polishes, I wasn't a big fan, but this baby is GAWJUSS!! If you haven't tried any textured polishes, you should definitely give this one a go.

OPI A-Piers to be a Tan is a lovely caramel creme polish with an amazing formula. This was so flattering on my complexion, but I am sure it compliments others as well.

Nicole by OPI Gumdrops Cinna-man of My Dreams is a stunning textured polish with a great formula. I really loved how this color looked on me!

These next two favorites come from Zoya's Summer Pixie Dusts Collection. I love both of these on their own, but they compliment one another so well. This manicure was created using Beatrix and Tomoko.

Zoya Moosheen is such a different polish! Well...for me at least! I think this one can be pretty versatile and would look great over contrasting colors. I have shown it here over Zuza.

Marc Jacobs Petra is a deep bronze metallic foil polish. This is the first polish from MJ that caught my eye and I am so glad I purchased it!

Sally Hansen Loden Green is such an amazing khaki/olive green. This is a perfect fall color and the formula is impeccable.

Butter London Two Fingered Salute is a mint green creme with copper shimmer.I know...I know...this wasn't released in 2013, but I didn't get it until this year. How can you not love this color?

Essie DJ Play That Song is the polish that truly began my love for Essie polishes. Before this baby, most of the Essie's I had tried had horrible formulas. Not this one. Besides the formula, it is a perfect neon purple creme polish. This may be one of my most frequently used bottles of polish!

Only three words are needed for the following polish... Purple. Holo. Inexpensive. That's all you really need to know! Color Club Eternal Beauty is stunning!

OPI My Vampire is Buff is a perfect neutral shade! I love the versatility in this polish and it's perfect for undies for a variety of glitters, nail art, and as a palette cleanser.

The final polish on my list was my very first high end polish purchase. I saw this on my friend Lakeisha's blog and it blew me away. The price kept me away for a bit but I won a contest and the prize included a $25 gift certificate to Sephora. Yep...I purchased Dior Spring Ball for only 69 CENTS!

That's all for my 2013 mainstream favorites! Be sure to keep a look out for my indie favorites. I like this post because I can see my growth and improvements in photography since beginning the blog! What do you think of these? Are any your favorites as well?

Duh Nail Polish Ring It In Collection Review

Press Sample
Hello lovelies!! I hope your Christmas was merry and bright! My day was okay, although I ended up with pink eye. I know right...who gets sick on Christmas Day? Well...apparently, the answer is me. Sad...just sad. Anyway, today I have some beauties from a relatively new indie polish brand called Duh Nail Polish. Danyl, the owner, is a sweetheart and has created some really pretty polishes in her first few collections since opening a few months ago. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for more from this brand.

A Bubbly Toast is described by the maker as "a nude made for everyone. A pearl flake with a slight shifting pigment, and a sprinkling of holo dust." I completely agree with that description, as this polish seems to be universally flattering on all complexions. I used three thins coats and there were no issues with application or formula. This is a great color for the office or anytime that subtlety will work best!

Next is Champagne & Caviar, which is described by the maker as "a pearl, nude, pinkish, shimmer with black holo hex, pink holo hex, micro holo pink and micro holo black holo hex." Once seeing the bottles alongside one another, I immediately realized the similarity in base colors of this one and A Bubbly Toast, so I used it as undies. The formula is sheer, so two coats were used along with the undies. I absolutely adore this polish. This personifies a grown woman's glitter polish! Love, love, love.

Black Tie Affair is described by the maker as "a charcoal gray crelly with sapphire hex silver hex, micro sapphire glitters." The color combination used in this polish is right up and down my alley! The crelly formula was perfect and spread evenly in two coats. There are just the right amount of glitters to give it a great look without being too overwhelming. Perfecto!

The Countdown To.... is described as "lots of holo glitters in a silver/chrome jelly, stuffed full of platinum flakes and holographic dust." I am not completely sure if I agree that this is a jelly. I could be wrong but it is more of a sheer glitter topper with fine micro glitters and holographic particles. That's just my description. Regardless of the description used, this is a pretty polish and it's extremely versatile. I layered two coats of this one over a metallic silver polish and I LOVE the way it came out. This one screams New Year's Eve!

Want Some Cheese with That Whine is described as "a beautiful bordeaux red with lots of gold flakes." Ahhh....just....ahhh!!! This is a deep wine colored jelly with an absolutely amazing formula!! The gold flakes shine through the jelly base and give this just the right touch. The first thing that came to my mind with this one was classy. This is one classy polish. Did I mention the formula is perfect? Oh...ok...just checking. Seriously, Danyl really created a stunner and the name is super cute! I used two coats.

The last polish happens to be my favorite of the collection. Twenty Fourteen is described as "a gorgeous royal blue jelly, glitter bomb which is packed full of sapphire hex, black holo hex, and holographic dust." DEAD. I mean...WOW! Again, another great jelly formula is accentuated by a perfect mixture of glitters. I could really go on and on about the gorgeousness of this polish, but I will spare you! Haha!  I used three thin coats for the photos below.

I am really loving these polishes from Duh Nail Polish. I think this brand is on the way to making a real statement in the indie world. This Ring It In Collection is perfect for the grown and sexy, as well as, a younger more outgoing crowd. The cohesiveness of the collection is what I really love, as I feel it was well thought out in it's creation. All of the polishes fit and work well as a collection. Duh Nail Polishes can be purchased by visiting the shop HERE. Be sure to follow thebrand for news, updates, new releases, and other fun stuff on Facebook and @duh_nailpolish on Instagram.

Happy Holidays!
