Glisten & Glow Products Review

Press Sample
Well...it's Monday...sigh. That really sums up the way most people feel about Mondays. Today is an especially "sigh worthy" day, as I have an extremely long day of classes. I will be in class from 10:30am-1:20pm, then 1:30pm-4:20pm, and finally 4:30pm- 5:50pm. See what I mean? Sigh....

I am really excited about today's post, as it is the first of its kind here at Polished to Precision. Why? Well..the focus of today's post is NOT on nail polish. I have some amazing products to show you from Glisten & Glow. This company is owned by super sweet Jill, whom I can truly call a friend at this point. Jill was another lady who was instrumental in providing me with the motivation, support, and encouragement to begin this blog. Over the course of our acquaintance, Jill was always asking me about considering blogging. Once I told her that I was interested, then the reminders became slightly more direct..."What's going on with your blog Tiff?" and "Wow...look at this...tell her she needs to get the blog started." Geesh...LOL! Well, thanks for forcing motivating me Jill! I truly appreciate your support hun!

Let's start off with the first two products that have become staples in my hand and nail care routine. Glisten & Glow's Body Butter and Nail & Cuticle Balm have truly become my go to products. Both of these items come in a variety of scents, which can satisfy anyone's palette, ranging from soothing to sweet to floral to bold. My favorites so far have been chamomile, sangria white peach, summer sorbet, and lavender. I'm thinking of trying the perfume based fragrances next time. These pictures show my hands after being moisturized with the body butter and my nails with the use of the balm.
Please excuse my middle finger. I had a slight tear in the nail, so it looks different due to the Orly Rescue Kit
What's so great about this you ask? Well, first the body butter provides an intense moisture for all over my body, especially my hands since they tend to be dry. This has become my favorite moisturizer to use before taking my swatch photos for the blog. It seems to really melt into your skin, leaving your hands soft, without being greasy or oily. The cuticle balm, is great because of many of the same reasons. An additional benefit is the packaging which makes it super portable and convenient. It's just the right size for any handbag, tote, or even a wristlet. Again, this balm provides great moisture without a sticky or greasy residue. These two products satisfy my slightly obnoxious need to moisturize every 5 minutes or so!

The next photo shows my nekkids with the addition of the Glis-tics Cuticle Oil. Jill hit it out of the park with this oil! I love the portability, convenience, and ease of application. The oil comes in a glass roller ball container with a vast array of scents to choose from. I actually have 2 of these! Hehe...she sent me a Chamomile to review and I purchased the Japanese Cherry Blossom myself. I seriously LOVE THIS STUFF! I have one in the console of my car and the other is in my handbag. Obsessed much? Yep... I will admit it! This is the oil after I first applied it to my nails and cuticles.

Like the body butter and cuticle balm, the cuticle oil provided intense moisture, without a greasy or sticky residue. It absorbs quickly and leaves your nails with an amazing scent. These pictures show the oil after being rubbed into my cuticles. See...not super shiny or greasy! Great stuff!

The next product I am showing you is the topcoat of all topcoats....(drum roll please)...HK Girl topcoat! Ahhh....I LOVE THIS STUFF. I CANNOT LIVE WITHOUT IT! This topcoat dries super fast, is super shiny, very durable, and DOES NOT cause that horrid shrinkage that some other well known topcoats cause. What else is so great? I have not experienced any goopy, icky, thickening of the coat towards the middle and end of any of the bottles I've had. Nothing is more frustrating than finishing up a super pretty mani and opening up your topcoat bottle to a goopy mess. Ugh. I have gone through about 4 bottles of this stuff since falling in love with it in March of this year. I am so happy to finally have the extra large bottle! Below is a sampling of some different polishes using HK Girl topcoat.

Let's talk about the basecoat... This is the item that is the newest to my routine. I've heard a lot of good things about it and I am so happy I finally have it! I actually only use it for a manicure that I am actually going to wear longer than the time it takes to swatch and photograph. I have used this in conjunction with my nail treatments and I have noticed an increase in wear time and durability. Additionally, there are no issues using this basecoat with any polishes in my stash. I'm talking holos, glitters, cremes, jellies, shimmers...I mean them all. Another amazing benefit of this polish is that I have not experienced any staining upon removal, even for those infamous blues, teals, and deep red colors. I also used the basecoat and topcoat for these swatches.

Here's a full mani that I wore for 2 days without any dulling of the colors, no chips, and it still looks great! Yep...The Stuck on Blu basecoat and HK Girl topcoat was truly a winner! It worked really well to smooth out the glitters in this polish and it did not mess up my dots when applied while the polish was still wet.

If you can't already tell, I am a huge fan of Glisten & Glow products! The Body Butter retails for $13.50 for an 8oz. container. It is seriously whipped to perfection. The Nail & Cuticle Balm will cost you $8.50 for a .5oz container. This is such a great price due to the quality of the ingredients and it lasts super long! Glis-tics Cuticle Oil comes in a .37oz roller ball glass vial for $10.50.. The portability can't be beat! Stuck on Blu is sold in .5oz full sized bottles for $6.95. And the holy grail of topcoats...HK Girl can be purchased for $6.95 (.5oz), $35.95 (2.5 oz), and multiple sizes for the refill bottles. You should also know that Glisten & Glow is an authorized retailer other brands, such as OPI and Essie. Check it out! Be sure to follow the brand on FacebookTwitter, Instagram, and Pinterest for updates on products, sales, and other fun things!

  6. How do you like the larger bottle/brush? I am an HK Girl convert but don't love the small bottle/brush. I'm thinking the large one will be perfect for me. What's been your experience with it? Thanks in advance :)
