Polish Us Pink- Breast Cancer Awareness

Hello everyone! As you all may be aware, October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Cancer in general has had a significant impact on my life, both personally and professionally. Although this particular form of cancer has not had any direct impact on any of my family or friends, cancer in general has. Both of my grandfathers passed away from cancer and this past March, my mother-in-law also succumbed to this horrible illness. Professionally, I work in the field and study social work. Breast cancer and it's impact has been really significant in the lives of many of my clients. Thus, I have a true affinity for this cause and many others that are very similar. Every Wednesday throughout this month, I will dedicate a post to 'Polish Us Pink' and create a manicure in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness.

For today's look, I used 2 coats of Zoya Arabella on all of my fingers except the ring fingers. Arabella is from the Zoya Fall 2013 Pixie Dusts collection and is described as a rich fuchsia pink in a matte, textured, sparkling finish. I really love the look of this polish!

For my ring finger, I started with 2 coats of a frosty pink OPI (I don't have the name because my label is mysteriously missing...SMH). I added one coat of HK Girl Topcoat and then used silver rhinestones to create the ribbon. I finished it with topcoat to seal the rhinestones onto the nail.

I really like the way this turned out. I am so excited about creating manicures for Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Remember that there are various ways to show your support, including donating to foundations that research and help provide assistance to people with the illness, participating in the various walks and marathons, and just being a support to someone who may be battling with the multiple issues (both emotional and physical) that come along with a diagnosis of Breast Cancer.

Please feel free to participate and share your manicures via any social media outlet. Feel free to tag me so I can see them! All of the additional tags and hashtags information are included on the picture posted above.

Have a great day!
