Pink Wednesday: So Close to Home

Hello lovelies!! I hope everyone is having a great week so far! Me? Well...in all honesty, my week has been pretty tough thus far. I am currently writing with serious knots in my stomach, as the issue of Breast Cancer Awareness hit far too close to home. In order to "practice what I preach," I went and had a breast examination on yesterday morning. During the exam, the doctor discovered IT. At this time, there is uncertainty regarding what IT may be, but she expressed resounding optimism that IT is due to a benign condition called Fibrocystotic Breast Condition. Fortunately, it appears I have a textbook case of this condition and the likelihood of something malignant is very low. Unfortunately, this is one of the SCARIEST MOMENTS OF MY LIFE. LITERALLY. The feeling is indescribable, even in the face of optimism, research, and her medical experience. I am being sent for a mammogram and ultrasound to provide an official diagnosis. Hopefully this can be done soon, so I can begin to relax a little. Anyway, I am a believer in God and my faith is strong. Keep me and my family in your thoughts and prayers please.

Today's post is dedicated to Breast Cancer Awareness month and my continuing to participate in the Polish Us Pink manicure theme. I will start off saying...I LOVE THIS manicure so much! To begin, I used OPI This Gown Needs a Crown from the limited edition Miss Universe 2013 collection. This Gown Needs a Crown is a silver matte foil. At first glance, it appears to be another regular ole silver foil polish. NOPE. Not this baby. I used two smooth and easy coats. Application was a breeze. Upon applying, the beautiful nature of this polish kind of sneaks up on ya. All of a sudden it was like BAM...and this beauty truly shined!!

Isn't this pretty? I mean...I think the ability for a foil to be matte and shiny at the same time, makes this one a true stand out in the crowd.

To show my Breast Cancer Awareness support, I added 2 pink ribbon stickers that came in the package with the OPI Pink of Hearts set (previously reviewed HERE). I placed them on the ring finger and added the silver stud stickers as well.

For the rest of the nails, I used pastel pink studs from The Born Pretty Store to add  bit of an accent over the silver polish. I placed them each on with a little base coat. As I mentioned before, I LOVE THIS MANI!!! Here is the final result with HK Girl Topcoat by Glisten & Glow.

And a close up on the ribbon accent nail...

What do you think? Have you done any Breast Cancer Awareness manicures? Don't forget to tag your photos #polishuspink and #bcamani2013. Also...get those breasts, boobies, tatas, chichis, girls...or whatever you may call them, checked out. Early detection is the key.

Happy Hump Day!
