Slacking much?

Hello lovelies!!! I am so happy you are still here with me. Yes..I went M.I.A. a few days last week, but the truth is...life just got in the way a bit. I have been dealing with issues with a HORRIBLE toothache and am I finally able to get it all handled on Monday. So please say a prayer, meditate, do a hymn, or make a sacrificial offering in my name! (He he!!) Anyway, I have continued to keep up with the nail challenge posts, with the exception of the watermarble that was for day 20. Honestly...watermarbling just isn't for me!!! I wasted 2 1/2 hours of my life only to end with 2 white nails and tape around my fingers...<insert horribly embarrased emoticon here> After a moment of self-refection, I came to the conclusion that this particular technique is not for me!! At that point...I kept it moving to the next day! I have 2 days of the challenge in this post!

Day 21 of the 31 Day Nail Challenge was for nails inspired by a color. As I have mentioned before (and is also quite apparent from my blog template), PURPLE is my absolute favorite color in the world!! I love purple anything...nails, clothes, makeup, whatever!! For this mani, I began with 2 coats of Zoya Mira, which is a beautiful dusty purple creme. I added two coats of Whimsical Ideas by Pam's Persian Violets to all except my ring finger.

To finish, I stamped my ring finger with white polish and Pueen plate 4. I then added China Glaze Fairy Dust to the stamped nail. I finished the look with 2 coats of HK Girl Topcoat!!

Day 22 of the 31 Day Nail Challenge calls for nails inspired by a song. Well, as many of you know, my daughter is 2 years old and one of her favorite songs is the 'ABC Song.' Seriously...she insists on singing it repeatedly!! I am so happy that she loves learning (yes, she can say her entire alphabet!!), but geesh.... Anywho, this is the song that came to mind when thinking of an inspiration for this mani. I decided to try a technique that I had not yet attempted, plus it seems fairly simple for an amateur such as myself!! I used this Tutorial by All Lacquered Up to create my chalkboard nails mani.

Mentality Rascal (matte black)
I started with 2 coats of Mentality Rascal. When thinking of which polish to use, this immediately came to mind. This polish is a perfect matte black and the finish truly resembles that of a brand new chalkboard. I LOVE IT!! I added the various designs to each nail to create a youthful and somewhat whimsical appearance.

After it was complete, I added a matte topcoat to give all of the other polish colors a matte finish. Ta-Da!!! I really like this look and I will be certain to try this again soon.

Toodles!!!
