31 Day Challenge Day 2: Orange Nails

Hello Lovelies!!! Today I continue with the 31DC2013 and I have some Orange Nails to show you! In this post, I used 2 textured polishes from Zoya Pixie Dusts. I also attempted a little "nail art" that was inspired by Lakeisha from Refined & Polished. You can see her post HERE.

To begin I used 2 coats of Zoya Beatrix on my index and pinky fingers. Beatrix is an orange textured polish with flashes of gold sparkle.

Zoya Beatrix (index & pinky)
Next, I added 2 coats of Zoya Tomoko, a really fine champagne silver color. Although this is described as silver toned, it has that vagueness that most champagne colors have, so it works really well to bring out the gold tones in Beatrix

Zoya Tomoki (middle & ring)
To finalize the look, I added 3 pieces of striping tape, diagonally across my ring finger. After the tape was on, I added 2 coats of Beatrix to my ring finger.

Once the 2 coats were on, I allowed it to sit for about 1 minute and carefully pulled the tape off my nail.

No topcoat was used at all on this look, as it would change the textured effect of the Pixie Dusts. I really like the way this looks! Next time I try striping tape with Pixies, I will attempt a more complicated pattern. What do you think about this look? Have you joined the challenge? If so, remember to tag your pics on social media with #31DC2013. You can also find more information on the entire 31 Day Nail Challenge HERE.

Have a happy holiday!
