One week down...

Hello Lovelies!!!

Today is my 1 week blogiversary!! YAY!! I know...pitiful right?! Well, I am celebrating the small steps and I'm so happy that you have stuck it out with me for an entire week! Please take the time to comment below and let me know how you think I'm doing, leave a suggestion, a request...whatever. K? K.

Today's post is very special to me because I am showing 2 of my custom creations from Dollish Polish. Dolly is major in the indie world, as she makes some beautiful polishes and she recently made 2 customs just for ME!

This first polish was given to me as an anniversary gift by my dear friend Sia. We met through our love for nail polish and quickly grew into BPFFs (Best Polish Friends Forever...haha). Now I am certain she'd agree that the 'P' can be dropped as we have truly become best friends. Sia was sweet enough to contact Dolly to create this custom for my 3rd year wedding anniversary. Although the polish arrived 2 months late (Haha!!), I absolutely LOVE it and I appreciate her so much!

Here is a picture of me below on my wedding day! My flowers are my favorite colors and also served as the inspiration for Dolly's creation. I was married on the beach of Nassau, Bahamas.

"T & K 6/2/2010" is a beautiful vivid purple jelly with periwinkle, pink, purple, and white glitters. This combo is perfect as it captures the beauty of the flowers and the backdrop of the Bahamian Ocean where my husband and I were united. I used 3 thins coats with topcoat in this photo.

I absolutely love this polish! Thanks so much Sia!

Here I added double accent nails on my pinky and index fingers. For this look, I did a gradient using Wet n Wild On a Trip and Essie DJ Play That Song. After the gradient was complete, I stamped the hearts using Sally Hansen White On! and Pueen 41 and added topcoat. I LOVE the way it turned out!!!

The next custom is also very dear to my heart. Ironically, I have this to share with my friend as well. Both she and I have 2 year old daughters, Kendall (mine) and Sofia (hers). These 2 little ladies have had a very rough start to life. Oftentimes, the challenges they've faced have helped Sia and I to realize our true strength as women and mothers. Most of all, it reinforced our faith in God. Throughout all of their challenges, they have both surpassed the odds that were set against them and we love them dearly and are proud to be their mommies. Now I need a tissue...

Here are pictures of our little beauties...

The custom Dolly created for us is called "Fight Like a Girl." It is a light gray crelly base with small pink, teal, and purple glitters, along with large pink, teal, and purple dots. It is a tribute to our babies. It came out exactly as we imagined. We combined our common likes (which are actually identical) and this beauty was born. This photo shows 2 coats of "Fight Like a Girl" with topcoat.

Although I love this polish alone, I went ahead and added double accent nails with it as well. I wanted to do something girly to represent our little sweethearts, so I added freehand bows. This was my first attempt at this nail art and I used this great tutorial by Selina's Nail Art.

What do you think? I think it's pretty decent for my 1st time...

Overall, I LOVE both of my custom creations from Dollish Polish! I appreciate the friendship that the love of nail polish has afforded me and I will be forever grateful to have met a lifelong friend.

Dollish Polish can be purchased HERE. You can also follow Dolly on Facebook and Instagram where she posts new info, restock dates, etc.

Thanks for tagging along with me for this past week and I hope you enjoyed today's post!

Have a good day!
