Mainstream Monday

Hi there lovelies!! I hope you had a good weekend! I have been brainstorming different ways to make the blog interesting and keep your attention. I am trying to integrate different themes and topics. Please let me know if you have any suggestions. I would truly appreciate it!

I decided to try a series called "Mainstream Mondays." In this series, I will feature manis using ONLY mainstream polishes every most Mondays. I believe I previously expressed my love for indies, but I want to show off some of the mainstream pretties I have in my stash as well. Today's post features polishes from one of my FAVORITE mainstream brands...Zoya.

These polishes were advertised in a recent flash promo and giveaway on Instagram and I am so happy to have snagged one! Together the "Aqua di Lara" set consists of Zuza, Ginessa, and Mosheen.  They were all packaged in a little cutesie white keepsake box. I am absolutely obsessed about things that come in pretty packaging or boxes!! Please tell me I am not alone!!

Aren't these babies beautiful?!

On to the swatching! First, I started with Zuza. Zoya describes it as a "deep, saturated, oceanic turquoise with gold and silver metallic shimmer and a foil-like finish. A beachy, colorful, foil-like shade with the perfect balance between blue and green."  I think this is an absolutely gorgeous shade and the shimmer takes it to another level! I must disagree with the description provided by Zoya, I do not consider this to be a foil finish at all. To me, it is a true creme with shimmer. Either way....I LOVE IT!

Zuza...2 coats and 1 topcoat

Next, I layered Mosheen over Zuza and the result was stunning! Mosheen is a special glitter topper that was created for one of their swim series. Mosheen is a a mixture of light aqua, pink, holo, and iridescent glitters (I think...lol). This can be layered over a variety of colors, resulting in many stunning looks! Here is 2 coats of Mosheen over Zuza.

Next up is Ginessa. Zoya describes this as having "soft, silvery white glitter flakes against sheer winter white base. A clean shimmering white that's universally flattering." This description is perfect! Ironically, this has more of a foil/metallic finish than does Zuza. I really love the softness this color displays.

Ginessa...2 coats and 1 topcoat
Like Zuza, I decided to layer Mosheen over Ginessa to create a different look. I really like the way these look together. This combo really reminded me of beautiful waves in the waters of the Caribbean.

For my final look, I decided to try some nail art. Well...it is what I consider to be nail art! Hmmm...well, this is an area that I have recently began to venture into. Please be patient!! LOL!

I left my pinky and index fingers with Mosheen over Ginessa and added 2 different accent nails. The first accent is a gradient with Ginessa and Zuza. I added one coat of Mosheen as well. The ring finger is Zuza and I added a stamp using BM-316 and Sally Hansen "White On!"

Overall, I really love the outcome of this nail art attempt! Stay tuned as I continue to try different things.

So lovelies...what do you think? Do you have any Zoya nail polishes? What are your favorites? Are there any you would like me to feature? Is there anything you would like me to try? Sorry for all of the questions! Please take a moment to comment and let me know what you think!

**As usual, my absolute favorite topcoat HKGirl by Glisten & Glow was used for each of these manis.**

Have a great day!

  1. No surprise that I love this post. The mani's are perfect and I love how well these polishes work together to create different combos. I don't have a ton of Zoya's but I love all the ones I do have. I look forward to more mainstream Mondays :) btw I love the packaging and I'm mad I didn't snag this set.
